Open Beta started today! Lots of cool features. Anime stylegraphics... Lots of cool music, sounds, landscape, crafting, monsters, quests...
Leveling is quest based, grinding doesnt give much xp. Class system is very different than your normal game. I bee playing a few hours and I still dont understand the stat system, very weird but cool. |

Yeah this game really has nothing to it except quests... I only got to level 13 because of constantly doing quests. Mobs around my level give 54 or 64 exp, and that means that the exp is static (no chance of a little more exp than normal, or a little less than normal) I've also noticed my exp required to level up was 21k at level 12 which I thought wasn't bad til I tried grinding mobs for 54/64 exp. The quests however for killing anywhere from 10-99 mobs can give you no exp for the quest, or almost an entire level up's worth of exp. The pet system is fun though, it's surprisingly the only enjoyable part so far... I got a humunkitten that can aoe, and tank. I just stand to the side now, and control the pet. Within 20 minutes I can actually complete quests for 40 monsters by just using my pet to tank/aoe while I heal it. Other than exp the community, item mall, and money flow seem odd. I need an item mall item just to use the world chat, and to use the party recruit board. I might be wrong, but that's what the game told me when I tried using either. It wasn't till a little later I realized I amassed a total of 8 silver, and 80 or so copper pieces. That was from just killing monsters for set amounts of copper, usually 3 or 4. Aside from those two things the community has yet to actually pop up. I'm either being spammed by quests, and told to run 30 different places or I see no one for a few hours. Hell even if I do see the world chat being used it's to try finding a "bride" or "husband" Overall, I was not amused for my first 2 day's of playing. |

The quest system is pretty much fast xp, you need to choose the right quests to do however. There are quests that give 10-40k xp at level 13, you need to choose the right ones. I been playing this a week now and I must say, if you can get past the fact that itsa kiddy/anime style, this game has SOOOO many features. In fact, I played wow for 4 years and I must say, this game has more features than WoW. Everything seems like they put so much time into this game. The artwork is amazing, the music is very relaxing and XP isnt that ahrd to get. TONS of in game events and cash shop is VERY optional and you can get cash shop items VIA in game trading.
Highly recommend this game to people who love MMORPG's and can get past the childish theme of the game. IMO: To me the graphics theme is very awesome and im 25 years old. |

LvL 20 dagger char here... it's called hmm Rogue? Yeah. A kid with daggers.
Anyway, the game has hidden it's grind behind quests which are nothing more than kill a mill of mobs, and report to me. No matter if the mobs are same to kill, the quest count it seperately. So if 2 quests are to kill: 1) 20 pigs and 2) 20 pigs, youll have to kill 40, and not 20,which is fine by me, but when you get to kill 5 times 20 mobs of same kind, it's not fine anymore. It's called grinding.
The game has some interesting features like pets (which are mostly too cute to watch and listen), and cloud which you can ride on and .... yeah, that's it. I ain't playing that piece of crappy poo any more. :D Enjoy it if you grind for life. |

I tried it in CB and i have to say this F2P is not so bad, tho i couldn't stand the grind. It has interesting features and graphics are maybe too "cute-kiddish" but again is not so bad to be a F2P, i liked the pet system and it's something like Zhu Xian (Celestial Destroyer) with those "cute" graphics. At least it's worth a try, tho i didn't make it higher than lvl 18 or so because the grind was horrible to me ;) |

I did the Closed Beta, and I'm in Open Beta. The Cash Shop is hugely overpriced which caused some to comment in the forums during Closed Beta since it is so apparent that the game targets children, not adults. Any suggestions to increase the ratio of Cash Shop E-Bucks to real dollars was ignored. Each E-Buck costs $1 US. Any suggestions to drasticly lower the Cash Shop prices was ingnored. Just increasing storage for one character (storage not shared across chars) is $60 real money.
Another aspect that was ignored by the devs was the issue of the Nascent, pr birthday, skills. If you choose the correct biurthday depending on your race AND class, you can get some nice extra power. However, this IS NOT clearly explained to new people and many choose their own birthday at the character creation screen out of ignorance. What is the price of this ignorance? Re-roll or pay $40 real money.
The started Inventory and Stash are so small that you cannot complete some of the puzzle quests that give you a pet or a mount - this last I believe is limited use. If you don't want to pay cash you must resign yourself to frequent trips to town to unload the stuff at a Merchant - not that THAT will avail you of very much game gold - most things sell for between 1-6 game copper (not even golds) - as far as I know.
You are given a free flying Glide as a quest reward, BUT this little cloud is horribly slow and eats your MP away rapidly, causing you to constantly consume MP pots. The mounts that either eat very little MP so you are regenerating faster than it is used, or use no MP at all? All Cash Shop items and these START at $20 real money.
Additionally the stat system is confusing as it departs from the commonly used systems. Instead ALL characters use magic based on the affinity for their CLASS. This cause major confusion during Closed Beta. Many were maxing Pyra for INT instead of points put into their affinity for their class. This is still not explained clearly and only future player guides may explore them enough so that everyone can benefit. However your confusion over where to put points can only be solved by re-rolling or paying $20 real money.
Here's another thing that's a very badly thought out aspect of this "Cash Shop" phenomona. Anything you buy that you personally use - hair, wings, mounts, etc., are BOUND to YOU. As yet there exists no way to unbind them. You cannot sell them to another when you get tired of them. The ONLY way to get rid of them is to DESTROY them. Yes, you read that right - pay real money for an item and have to destroy it to get rid of it - remember the tiny storage problem this game has?
This game gets a low rating from me for the following; 1) Marketing to children assuming parents will open their wallets for hundreds every month. 2) Overwhelming greed. 3) After LV45 it's an open PvP free-for-all that is bound to degenerate with no PvE/optional PvP in sight. If you don't like open PvP, play at your own risk.
But don't take my word for it, go over and READ THE FORUMS. All I've said is there and can be read by the general public.

ESO is a pretty decent game. Kinda grindy, but with the right quests and doing events you can level at a decent speed. In game money is hard to earn, the only way to earn money is to trade special items with characters that are a different gender once a day. There is a lot of pet related stuff, you can also meld pets to make them better.
Currently the dungeon system, not a very active community (nearly everyone is soloing), and the item shop are the greatest cons of the game in my opinion. |
