Hi everyone,
Thanks in advance |

Guardian is an excellent choice (I have played one, and I found it a really fun character to level). Rolling on a PvE server might not be a dumb thing to do, since everyone and their dog is out to get you on a PvP server (basically, if you are not in a group, people will attack you). You can PvP on your own merits in the PvE servers by going to the border kingdoms and doing minigames. I think Wiccana or Set are good servers to make your character on, but I'm not entirely sure, since I play on a EU server.
GL & HF It is preferable not to travel with a dead man. |

Thanks for the info Deadman, I am very excited to start playing but it probably won’t be until sometime tomorrow for me. I decided to buy from Direct2drive and its going splendidly slow! But hey 13 GB not like it’s going to be patching in 30 mins. Very good news from you also about the guardian. I love to play the tank so I thought that class would be perfect for me. I will be playing on the US servers so after looking at the official AoC forums I’m going to roll on Winneca (might have spelled it wrong). Well, thanks again and HF back at ya :) |

The most populated american pve servers are Set and Wiccana, i beleive Set is slightly more populated. But really both have a bunch of raiding guilds.
The pve content of AoC is really fun, there isn't as many raids as wow honestly but there are still a good bunch. Also there are some solo dungeons which i think are very fun. Here i found a list of all the dungeons in aoc:

Those 5 24 people raids are really large, it takes most guilds a couple of days to complete one of them. And very few guilds have beaten the hardest raids.
As for classes, if you want to tank i would say either guardian or dark templar. Dark templar are not as popular because they are not a very good class in pvp, but they are great at tanking and pretty damn fun to play. But you really can't go wrong with guardians, they got the normal sword and board build but they are also the only class that can use polearms, polearm oriented builds are great at aoe tanking and farming, plus they can deal quite a bit of damage.
If you do go guardian i would suggest a polearm build until 80, will make your life much easier for leveling. Just keep a one handed weapon and a shield on you for when you need to tank.
Also, if you are like me and never really liked playing mage classes, i would suggest you try a herald of Xotli, they are basically a melee class that fart fireballs. By far the most fun and original class i played in any mmo.
Cheers, hope you like the game. |

Thanks for the info. I am sure ill try plenty of the classes so I can get a taste for one of them. Just on paper the guardian looked like it suited my wants. I will def try the dark templar as well, thanks for the suggestion. I cant wait to get my feet wet! :D or bloody? :p |

Well...wet first then bloody.
When you make your first character you will get the joke. :p |

I just started last week and AOC is a blast! I rolled PVE first so I could learn my character before trying FFA PVP. So far, AOC is the best MMO I have played since WoW. Looks better than EQ2 and has a great melee system. ALso, NO ELVES!! |
