Most other MMOs look like absolute tripe, though Spellborn looks pretty good.

I know you all with think I'm nuts for this, but I'm going to toss FFXI into the mix.

Yes, it's really old, it's DX8.1 and its on the PS2. How good can it be right?

Technically, it's terribly by today's standards.

Artistically, it's absolutely incredible.

The art directors of FFXI got a lot of things right.

 OK, don't listen to the EVE and FFXI comments.  Like he said FFXI is on the ps2 it's outdated, at the time it was nice but getting a lil out of date now.  EVE with the premium graphics is nice but how hard is it to graphically make a solar system that is 50% blackness and then just a star and some asteroids with some nebula glow...not that hard imo.  LOTRO is nice but I don't think you can put it in the same category with Vanguard or AoC it's  just not as nice.  Now the fact that people even say GW's makes me laugh.  That game is not even that nice, it basically has the same graphics as L2 and that game is like 4 yrs. old.  You can try them for yourself but Vanguard and AoC are just in another level than the rest.  Oh, and Mortal Online will be very graphically impressive and will take a mean machine to run it on high settings.  Ok, i'm done and don't flame too harsh :).

If you want to test your graphics card with a free game, go Requiem. Pay to play game, go Age Of Conan.

the best looking mmo is easily age of conan but lotro and eq2 both have very good graphics and both can be very pretty with the right computer

AoC looks best. Vanguard and LOTRO looks quite nice too but nowhere close.

AoC really does have great graphics, and the gameplay isn't terrible. Vanguard is nice too, if it weren't so empty.

Age of Conan is the only game that will challenge a high end rig.  I have a powerful PC and I still dont have AoC on full settings.  The graphics are staggering and even after 6  months I am still shocked at how an mmo can look this good.  Small details like paintings in dungeons look real and the ground even close up is detailed with 3d grooves. 

Other games that look nice but not even close are EVE, LotRO and possibly Vanguard.  But for me its AoC all the way.

Agree with Cryses its by far, hands down, AoC.  I'm going to start playing it again, I miss the good atmospheric sound and fx, world feels alive.  TcoS is interesting from an artistic perspective but as for realism and grit, AOC takes the cake.

Requiem isn't the nicest F2P game graphically. There are plenty alongside requiem. Rohan Blood Feud, Sword of the New World, etc

As much as I hate AoC I have to admit:

Age of Conan by far has the best graphics for an MMO. Theres nothing close to it.

I cant understand for the life of me why people play MMO's for graphics. After a while of looking at a game you dont even really notice graphics anymore. (atleast I dont anyways) 

 I would have to say that Age of Conan with the dx10 all blown out is a super sweet looking game followed by Lord of the Rings. Vanguard is pulling a close third for me.

This made me laugh because 1. you mean there not their, 2. this is best "looking" and wow looks like crap...most MMOs do. AoC looks good in MMO terms.

Of the games I've played, the best graphically are in this order (IMO):

AoC (despite the characters having a waxy appearance and the game itself being lame)
LotRO
VG (despite stiff character animations)
EQ2

The best performing of those four is LotRO. Turbine's really optimized the game engine well. You get really nice graphics even on older machines.

For a free MMO, Guild Wars has beutiful graphics, very stunning.  If your planning on paying, Age of Conan is good, same with LOTRO.

then what else that F2P and the graphic is stunning else then GuildWars??
