I'm not saying that PEOPLE are pissed that they can't play this weekend.  That was specifically aimed at the OP.  He was upset that he hadn't managed to get a copy yet and that they would not be having sales again until at least next week.

Well I guess its down to the basics - you are willing to forgive a small company for their blatant mistakes or apparent incompetence, and I do not. You and people who follow do not suffer from this - who cares of I and others who think like me criticise them? However, people like myself do suffer greately because of people like you. Why? Because companies like AV see that they can get away with bad/incomplete products. Notice how many MMOs are polished lately and are having problems at release at our expence? Its because we, consumers, are letting them get away with it. We encourage them to do that, in fact. We send them a message that it is OK to make unvinished/buggy software because "they are small/indie" or "everyone does it" or "they are trying their best". As a software developer myself I do not allow my software to be that way, this is a really bad trend that should be stopped, not encouraged for whatever reason. This is my logic, Im sorry you can't see it.

Well, I sugest you relax, buy a nice single player game, read a good book, and try again another time.

Or go play www.ryzom.com , which is a great sandbox game.

Personally I am enjoying EVE Online atm, ( If I wasnt I would be playing Ryzom :p ) but once the initial rush has passed and the game is somewhat playable, I wil try to get my hands on a copy of Darkfall :p

They actually have a very good product and probably the best mmo currently on the market, imo.

QFT .... this is why I am big hater  of this game. AV simply set new low, low standards which the fanbots sink to everytime.  Were in serious trouble now I think because the expectations and what level companies can now get away with. 

I swear AV is some front for SOE or some evil big corp.

You can only buy it when Tasos's Magic Eightball tells him he can open it up for another 1k orders.

It has been announced at least 12 hours before the shop opens on every occasion (except yesterday and today every workday in the week). There is a set amount of copies available each of the days  and mostly is sold out in a matter of minutes cause of the amount of people want to buy.

You have absolutely swallowed the Tasos cookie of fanboisism if you think we have no right to complain about Aventurine's ordering process/account management system.  Following your logic, going to McDonald's, they can have their entire drive thru lane covered in BULL DUNG, and we have no right to complain about it.  B.S.  Regardless if you are a food establishment, retailer, or MMORPG company, you are a company that is providing a service to the public.  As such, you have an obligation to that public to be professional and provide a quality service and product.  I can guarantee you that if you tried to use your line of logic to any MBA professor or Corporate executive they would laugh you out of the room.

I wasn't implying DF was bad, depends entirely on your personal preferences. What I was saying that companies that do make bad or unfinished/unpolished ones are encouraged by people who keep buying this and keep "forgiving" them because :
- they are indie
- they are small
- its their first game
- its their first MMO
- their publisher quit
- their funds ran out
- or any other reason...

DF may be good, but AV was definitely not ready for its release. Still isn't.

The point is, if the product is not finished, they shouldn't charge permium price for it. Depending on the level of completeness, may not even charge at all - make it F2P while they fix their server stability and polish it up. They aren't trying to rip off people though, ill give them that. They aren't selling more copies when they know their servers can't handle any more clients. But, Im not entirely convinced they do this from the goodness of their heart, or simply they do not want to entangle themselves into legal battle for selling product they know they cannot handle.

Have you noticed how so many "paid betas" have been popping up lately?

So if you needed food and I (as a store owner) promised you on the phone that you could buy some here, and then you come into the store and its all hardware, would you not be pissed for misinforming you? For lying to you? You wouldn't, because you didn't pay anything for it. You just wasted your time getting here. Right?

people are always demanding evolution in a game, but when they find a game that they like, those same people become complacent even if the product does fall short of expectations. It's quite funny, what inspiration would a developing company have to evolve if the playerbase just settles on what it has?

I lol'd. I love this. I do think Aventurine is just shutting the doors to many by selling their game this way. I've never seen a game ran this way. Neocron did something similar. You see where it got them? Games only succeed if they do well at advertising their game and letting people know about it (word of mouth) AND ACTUALLY SELLING THE GAME IN THE STORE if it's p2p....seriously...They want to stay small, fine they will. The community will dwindle and they'll eventually close. Already predicting it. I just don't see why they are doing what their doing. I realize they aren't a huge company but.....they knew they had so many wanting to play it and so many where hyped about it...all they are doing is saying screw you....so I guess this guy decided to say screw you back. Good for you. lol

I called an insurance cmpany about a quote for home and content insrance for a new property. They told me they'd call back tomorrow, a week later they hadnt called back. I was pissed off because even though i hadnt spent a dime they had lied to me, wasted my time and acted unprofessioanlly. I decided to go with another insurance agency. Now the op is pissed off and thats fair enough when you piss off potential customers don't expect them all to be patient even if your product is chaper/better. The op never said it was his right he just said he was pissed off and not going to buy the game which is a completely valid reaction to his situation.
