Been playing for two weeks and the game (like many) has promise but (like many) it'll take a very long time to fix the problems it has currently.

First impressions:

Graphics are OK and framerate is smooth but the game is dark (maybe why it's called darkfall) easily fixed with gamma

Controls are cumbersome to say the least and most that have not played FPS's or Oblivion (without cheats and nude mods) will not like it.

There is a sync issue with some including myself that makes players seem like they are "popping" around (hard to hit)

There are crashes that take place for some but the game has never crashed on my system at all

Some players are cheating with the same kind of cheats used in VG.

Forums are full of trolls (like me) and anyone that was dumb enough to follow the games for years seem to think they are leet. so the forums suck

Very little GM help available ATM and are volunteers that play the game on the same server ....

Very little explanation of what the devs are up to and communications are er... like VG,SWG, AOC.... typical nowadays

Q's for some are up to hours but I usually get in about 20 minutes if not right away

Mobs are missing or there are very few but there are many players to grind on

Grindy Yeah but not as bad as other games out (just the usual whack a mole BS)

harvesting builds your stats like willpower blah blah so it's good to do it and the crafters will build you items for their grind.

Mounts are cool and you can fight on them but they swim slow /shrug

Map sux and the main one cannot be zoomed in on but the mini map can be

waypoints seem to disapear if you log out so you'll need to write stuff down on paper

UI needs to be modded to clean it up

G15 is your best friend in this game and will make fighting, grinding, harvesting bearable

Ton of spells and I'm sure some will be nerf'd or buffed as the game goes on.

Guild walls are easily bypassed because they don't meet up against each other very well.

it's beta like most of the games that come out and just like the others, it'll take a year to polish this game.

Like I said it has potential but so did SWG,AOC,D&L,VG.... play at your own risk I guess

on my old monitor i needed to set gamma real high when it became dark to see anything, after i bought a lcd screen this was not needed anymore

Controls are cumbersome to say the least and most that have not played FPS's or Oblivion (without cheats and nude mods) will not like it.

most people change a few settings and after that it works, i hope they do improve the ui a bit.

sadly this is treu people, it seems that people with a high ping ar harder to hit then people with a normal ping.

some people claim they have crashes. like you i never ever crash.

some people cheat in all games not only vg and darkfall. now i never played vg so not sure what kinf of cheats they used there. but av is really trying to hunt those people down. one /gm_help put you tekst there, and a gm appears very very fast.

its hard to find any decent forum for any game dont think this really matters.

you need to save you gui with the /gui save command, use tab to see what commands there are.

sorry but you can clena up you ui your self. you can make things disapear or apear on certain moment, you can aslo set transparacy on all windows.

treu a g15 is a good thing to have, for people not using a  g15 cna download macromaker, a free program that can do all the things a g15 can.

and this is bad? so you say if a spell is overpowered it should not get nurfed, or that if its useless it should not et buffed?

mmos change look at wow it changes every 3/4 weeks a little with new patches and you have larger changes when they ad a new continent and so

like the review thats written aboud building city's/hamlets people seem to think this but they also say that buildings could close up the wholes. if they do not, wich we will find out later when more buildings are built, its should be fixed.

every game you buy is play at your own risk. certainly when you never played the game before.

When you say the G15 (I love mine) is essential to making gameplay more enjoyable could you please elaborate as to how this is so?

Also, what does nudity and cheats in Oblivion have to do with liking Darkfall - the statement kind of supports my theory that a lot of the trolls are from adolescent boys suffering from social disorders.

nude patch was a half assed joke along with the review. Actually most of the nude mods for oblivion were made by adults if not all. The game plays much like oblivion.

With the G15 you can write small macro that equipts your weapons and pulls them out for use.

For example: To heal in game you have to switch from your sword to your wand and select the heal icon. Sometimes in the heat of battle it can become cumbersome to do and sometimes it's hard to know if you wand is pulled out to use. So unlike a normal typical MMO where you can just click the heal icon this game you have to a little more than that. When you play it you'll see what I mean.

BTW the Q for me tonight has been two+ hours :( first time it's happened. i guess there is a bug that won't allow some to loot either tonight for some reason.

Regardless if you a Fanboi or not, logic would dictate that this game is not going well. But just like the Fanboi's of Vanguard, Dork & light, SWG, AOC I'm sure no matter what is done they'll defend it to the end LOL

You'd think most of them would use their talents of BS to sell used cars. I guess when you spend most of your life with your head up your butt, it's hard to see the light of day.
