This looks AWESOME. The only game I am excited about at the moment (counting both released games and those in production).. I just hope they can master the art of making an mmo.
Rules: 1. PvP with consequences, but not make it gankfest for jerks. 2. Make the game world changeable; your actions should have an impact. 3. Create a good combat system; better than Tabula Rasa but not like a first person shooter. 4. Focus on skills and development paths rather than levels. 5. Give reasons for the players to interact; create a system where people both will compete and cooperate. 6. There must be player housing 7. Include a lot of non-combat activities incl. CRAFTING. Crafting is core for a succesful mmo. Player vendors are part of the succes. AH is not. Also bind on pickup items ruin it for crafters. 8. Crafting must be based on ressources. All ressources must be a changeable system. 9. Hire a friggin economist already now and start working on micro and macro economy. It is THAT important. 10. Make sure to think about player surge in the first month of release. Create an intelligent server system that takes this into account. Player transfers should be possible from day 1. 11. Incl. some advanced and innovative features from day 1. - don't wait for the expansion that might never come - and include those vehicles from the start. We DON'T want to pay to beta test for to help you get cash to develop the game. 12. Oh and BETA test ALL features, please. Don't give us this "select group" crap or tell us it is included when you know it is not. 13. When the game is finished, feature complete, don't release it. Go back six months and fill it with new stuff that makes i stand out; give it that incredible polish and include those "gee - wow" features from the beginning. Only then will you be done. 14. Don't let players be removed from the game in mini-games. Mini-games are not important - find ways to engage players INSIDE your game-world instead. Mini-games makes mmo worlds empty and devoid of reasons to be. Mini-games are for the lazy developer. 15. If in doubts, drop me a PM :-D

Never trust anything other than gameplay taken by a user. This can be the best looking screenshots in the world and the game will suck hairy balls. World of Warcraft is a proof that MMORPG quality should affect schedule/budget and not the other way around. |

This is one of only a couple mmogs I'm looking forward to, and once again (surprise surprise) it's from a small developer. |
