This is the kind of graphics we'll soon see in our games, if not even better. I am amazed at just how much facial expression can be seen in this 3d model. 3D Model Expressions <<< clicky

oh the 3d is so amazing and vivid, looks perfect. i'm looking forward this kind of tech used in games. |

great, it looks so perfect, all the details are very lifelike, and i hope to see them in the game soon either. |

It'll probably help the other very popular type of internet entertainment industry more than the gaming industry... |

If games get graphics like that anytime soon, I can only imagine what sort of computer you would need to run it. |

I see this as being used in movies, but a long time to come for games. Would be nice though, Most likely will be introduced in " cinematics" but not into actual game play for many years to come. They still haven;t been able to unglitch the current graphix engines used or enhance gameplay .. I can imagine this will be on the back burners for a whoile, especially with the economy the way it is people are not going to be able to afford to upgrade computers as frequently as they have been in the past to be able to support it. |

Awesome stuff. Haven't seen that much eye brow gesturing and practiced smirking since the Biden/Palin debate *kicks over a drum of gasoline and politicizes the thread* Kidding, kidding. There's no new miraculous tools behind that though; just Maya I believe the artist uses. It's a feat of his skill, but you know...I do wish developers would start developing towards the PC platform in mind first and foremost nowadays. It'd return the advancement of all graphics related tech to the twice a year leaps in card generations ATI and Nvidia subject us to; instead of the console dictated advancements we have now. Then stuff like this we could actually hope for in games. |

Finally, I'll have some decent 3d animated porn in my collection. Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise. |

The method it uses to work would not make it plausible in many situations for video games. Pretty much the only use is in cinematics which is already happening. If it was transposed into idle conversations then it may actually look awkward without another common video game system in place which will cause a bit more load. As for the graphics its already possible with AMD video cards for the last 2 years. The hardest parts about rendering that image is raytracing and sub-surface scattering which would be costly in video games without an effecient method of rendering. Probably with 2~3 new texture maps. Sub-Surface Depth, Sub-Surface Color, and Self Occlusion maps. |

The eyes are MUCH better than most attempts but still do not focus correctly, and there's something wrong with her face. Can't quite put my finger on it, but I think he forgot to take into account the way the skin and muscles near the point of the cheekbones move during conversation. Nevertheless, an amazing improvement over most CGI attempts we see. Not playing MMOs, and hating every minute of it. |

It'll only be feasibile while in-game if its captured and how much tweaking was involved. If thats just one pass through a mocap facial rig, than thats excellent. Its still NOTHING new to cimematics and film though. Right now developers are already using basic auto lip sync software to get passible results like in Fallout and Mass Effect. For it to not look robotic, you'll need BETTER rigs or better animators. Videogame companies normally are short on quality animators, using CHEAPER mocap systems to do most of the work for them. Its a whole lot of work to do even semi reailitic facial expression. It takes an artist to do it properly. Software automation can only get to so far before an artist has to finish the job=) Pretty darn good though. The pupils for example I don't beleive can be captured. Thats all hand done from reference footage. |
