this is an interview of the game. very recent.
this game is awesome. not exactly next darkfall and vaporware but better than darkfa;;// tell me what you think
its like
for example if one player kills a big monster (by solving out riddles and finding its location) then that monster will be gone FOREVER in the whole world. no "instance" or whatever, you shape the whole world. |

You just created the 4th thread in this forum on this same interview. You're cookie is in the mail... Asheron's Call. The one open world, classless progression, live team content oriented game that ALL game sites and developers show little respect for as a template to pattern future MMOs after.

DAOC had great gameplay for its time, but it was never a massive success. Lineage crushed it in terms of sales. And BTW, if PVP is your cup of tea, none of the current MMOs out there are even touching WAR in that aspect. So yeah, logic? Icanhaz. |

Maybe because EPIC is not making this game.

Epic Games is not creating the game. Credit goes to Star Vault, and they are simply licensing the Unreal 3 engine to make the game. Thus, I can't say for sure that Epic Games is even a partner in this venture as they aren't (to my knowledge) providing any funds towards the development of this game. I bet there would be more than approx. 30 people working on it if Star Vault was being bankrolled by Epic. |

Your original post is strange. "this game is awesome. not exactly next darkfall and vaporware but better than darkfa;;//" Are you saying (from your title) its the next Darkfall, and that Darkfall is fail/vaporware? But better? In my opinion, a great game will probably be able to stand on its own. ----------------------------- |
|
This isn't the next Darkfall... stop saying that It is just another game that shares some features (that are also not only found in Darkfall). Different plot and everything.
And EPIC is not making this game so to all who think that, there you go.

LOL, being number one when the bar is set so low isn't much of an accomplishment, besides I feel EVE's PVP is far and away better than WAR. I don' think MO will be the next DF, I think its going to be some order of magnitude better. How much, who can say?

Watch it Kyleran. You're starting to sound less sarcastic and pessimistic about MO, lol. Asheron's Call. The one open world, classless progression, live team content oriented game that ALL game sites and developers show little respect for as a template to pattern future MMOs after.

The only thing worse than saying this game is the next darkfall is the realization it *could* be worse than DF and its dismal launch. Its a long way down into that pit. Me.. I wish MO good luck because were a pretty jaded bunch right now and they need to execute something amazing. Still least Lord Tasos is not at the helm on this one with his bullshit generator. So MO starts at a great rating of 0 and works it way up from there. Unlike Df which started at like -65% in my head with AVs silly assing around. |

Actually, I like what I see so far about MO, except for maybe their official forums. Like usual, its full of people who just wait for someone to start a new thread asking questions and leap on them with "use the search function" and other witicisms. I hate forum nazis.

WAR is a failure. Unless cutting 75% of your servers within the first 6 months is a mark of success. |

The next Darkfall? Give me a break...
Just because both developers decided to make a sandbox MMO doesn't mean either one is copying the other. In reality, they are both following in the footsteps of UO.
The new age MMO gamers are just funny. Every new themepark MMO that comes out is "the next WoW" and now every new sandbox MMO that will come out will be "the next Darkfall"? Are you people completely oblivious to the fact that there were MMO's BEFORE WoW. |

Just a minor point :-p

Don't sully the name of a game that looks good by comparing it to the DF abortion. "nerf rock, paper is working as intended." - Scissors. |

I actually like what I read on their site faq, all devs huge fan of UO and conceptually going for the UO original idea which is good. One dev is a big pnp before dnd was big so there is another bonus. Something definitly to watch, nothing I will put faith into till something solid is there to try. To many promises and promotional hype of games in the last few years gives me allot of skeptizm. However, if what they say is what they do, then there is definitly something here. Saying and doing ofcourse are two different things. |

Well they just opened beta applications, so if you want to see it for yourself, you should sign up =)

That means that it will fall somewhere between lackluster and mediocre, but as long as it hasn't been released yet, it will be the end-all be-all savior of the MMO market. The new forum wars game for people who though (incorrectly) that they liked MMOs before they played and hated every one ever released.... yet they persist, lurking on these forums and trashing every MMO that can can actually be played, while hyping the turds in development. |

The only thing Darkfall and MO have in common is the fact that they're based on the sandbox concept. Darkfall was filled with an 8 year long and shady development process with hardly any information released, and the information released was not backed by any sort of evidence. Once they finally opened up, they forgot to have a proper beta! MO has been right on its development schedule and the developers have been releasing information since day 1. Not only that, but we've already got to see ingame gameplay footage. There is really not much to be cynical about concerning MO yet. |

The biggest difference is that MO doesn't have a guy named Taco telling the world he just invented a new way to slice cheese, and its 100x better than the old way of slicing it. |
