Seems that stability was good overall. Some people had issues but overall the game seemed to handle it quite well. Many people still need to tweak sound/video options to get good preformance in big battles like that. Seems that battlespikes and siege hammers need tweaking, or AV doesnt intended people to take cities until they have cannons/warhulks/ships. I was on my way down to the fight when it was finishing up :(.
I have read/talked to alot of people who said this was the best experience they have ever had in an MMO......in the first month of release no less.
A highlight that someone in my clan told me about was a group of mounted guys charging into some foot that were in a double line formation. He said the mounted troops started knocking the foot all around, but then started dieing to archers. He was making everyone in vent, who were not at the fight, jealous. |

Hah, i was involved indirectly with this battle (border skirmishes). Fresh out of infantry training (The Black Company) and straight into battle. I was directly invovled the whole time, from the initial hour of holding back waves of naked Aesir to the epic, climatic, attempt at the stone. I have been in some large city defences and attacks from beta to today. I have also played a great deal of MMO's from the past. This was without a doubt, the most significant moment of my gaming time. It was literally insane, attacks from all ends, chaos and destruction. Some FPS/Lag issues here and there but with my relatively new rig I had few problems. This is also just the beginning. The introduction of city defences (which we have the basics of but haven't completed) and heavy siege gear/high end magic will make sieges down the road make this one look small, but as of now it was huge without doubt.

Hmm.. Amount of people involved is really impressive. Realy impressive thing is that servers survived :). i hope to see battles few months later or so, with siege equipment, greater spells and skills... Cause now it is just counter-strike MMORPG... |

Why is everyone acting like this is some profound, impressive shit when PlanetSide had this going on all the time NEARLY SIX YEARS AGO. May. 2003. PlanetSide lost something like 95% of all players in the first 18 months though. I only see it being worse for DarkFall because who wants to bother actually grinding to get the shit for these battles. People would rather just fight all the time with never-ending free equipment. Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise. |

am I the only person on this forum who thinks that this game looks simply horrible ? Animations on all th evideos are horrible, UI graphics is from 10 years ago, etc.. etc.. Casual adult guild recruiting for Champions Online. No requirements, private vent, website at GUNBAD.COM |

Yes, but that was then and this is now. You're living in the past man! Contemporize! This appears to be the only game on the market that offers large scale PvP today. Planetside may have done it fiirst, but Planetside is dead, let it go. DF offers the PvP today, so shitty graphics and choppy animations (terrible spell effects too) aside, DF is the best PvP option available today I think. is this the same city siege that was posted almost a week ago? not knockin it but didnt it start as someone sayin 150+ then 200+ now 300+? lol (if this is a different one sry im too tired to read all the posts). Protip: If someone does NOT list at least one positive and one negative about the game they are critiquing, its best to ignore the post. |

300 people in a choppy, stiff animation all pressing left mouse button and pressing right once in awhile to make it intelliectual. Whilst running around in the biggest Benny Hill fest eva. I am in awe ... isn't technlogy coming along great to simulate such real melee battles ... oh and incidently the 300 ? Not a single one of them can use FRAPs or some other screen capture. I'd also point out thread made my by "community manager"... i.e. probably a DF employee in a disguise. As we have all come to see n the past they are quite the liars and censors. Also good community sample in that thread.. it took what ? Six posts for it to become a QQ and flame fest ? |

Again... nothing new, just more people. It that Darkfall's calling card now... "more is better"? That video is identicle to the 25 vs 15 video we saw... only MORE PEOPLE. Where is the controlled combat and the tactics..? Was there any strategy? Zergfest..! This game is for newbies who just want to hack & slash and think about nothing else. Darkfall is utterly carebear'ish and laughable. Though, I suppose there are people who like dumbed-down combat, or being in the largest gang... more than they actually like challegning themselves. Did you see anything in that video that screamed hardcore or personal skill? Darkfall is for the most ignorant of gamers..! It isnothing more than Lord of the Flies or Rwanda gang warfar. That video is madness and mindnumbing at the same time. That video looked like fun, but it was also pointless and offered very little redeeming quality to make people want to buy or play this game. Been there, done that... comes to mind! 150 people, everyone is he same.... lol!
