Well I am sure Aventurine have plenty of capacity to find and punish cheaters along with further securing of there obviously already very, very secure client. Its not like they have staff manually entering CC information into global collection. Its not like were dealing with some uninnovative AND incompetant indie company here who cannot even launch a game after woefully underestimating capactity because no one did a SQL count on there forum membership. Its not like AV are struggling to deal with basic core issues such as billing and customer service and providing loads of network infrastructure. Its not like AV have exluded whole parts of the world from playing with a decent ping by not providing "regional" servers. Also its not like aventurine have ever been secretive about what action they will take regarding a given issue and what a given game feature is like. Its not like they have ever tried to delete problematic issues from there forums. There loads of evidence that they listen to there forums. Its not like the only thing they sticky to the top of the forum is how to buy the game and a massive list of people who have been charged and not in game ( which obviously promptly dealt with). The very honest and truthful fanbase will also deride cheaters and chase them down. There wont be any scare tactics and lists of people who never even cheated but someone got killed by then. It will calm and controlled. Up till now everything been transparent and obviously very well planned and executed. This has been years in the planning. Security was like a lot of features planned from day one. / LOTS of sarcasm ( F(*DK Its hard being sarcastic about this game. ) |

That would be true is DFO had the same graphics, game play and UI as AoC. And the floaty red names over the character's head, can't forget those. Edit: btw, I hope you realize that the person I quoted edited his post and removed the incorrect link.

I keep hearing all this talk about cheating being rampant... I mean I guess, if by rampant you mean less than 1% of the player base. I havn't seen a single hack yet, and I have fought literally hundreds of people. Ofc, I KNOW there are people hacking (even if I havn't run into them), I'm not blind to the situation as a whole... and I'm running fraps the entire time I play, ready to press f9 whenever I finally do run into a hacker. Its not hacking thats the problem, its the fact that Aventurine have practically legalized macroing, while I can understand that its just a lame temporary band-aid solution to the much larger problem of the fact that its a complete grind-fest to those who want to play the game normally. Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place. |

I can't even stand playing FPS games like Combat Arms because of all the hacking. I don't know why anyone would pay to play with the amount of hacking going on in DFO. Yes, I played a game that was hacked and exploitable and even I participated in some of that mayhem back in the day. I however don't have the twisted behavior reserved for such gameplay. Just say no to DFO!
