How does this game run with multi-core prossessors? would i have to turn on of them off to play?? and is there anything else i should know about running this game on a newer comp??

Works fine on duel core machines - doesn't use the 2nd processor at all.

 

As for the rest, the newer and more expensive the video card, the worse the game will probably run.  aTi cards especially have issues due to them removing so much DX7 code support.  This is a primary reason for the upcoming graphics engine as it will recode all calls to DX9.

Im using the 8800GT card, is there a way to run it on the card without having to switch my drivers?

I have a 9800GTX+ (with pretty recent drivers) and I can run AO without doing anything special.
