I'm not sure what you should play now but you may want to check out Mortal Online. It should be entering beta very soon and the IRC channel is always interesting to hang out in as the developers are in there quite a bit chatting it up with the community. |

I am not trying to sell it for 200. I already sold it for 80 : ) and I truley am looking for a new game to play until darkfall gets better or earthrise comes out. Ive already checked out MO but ER looks a little better IMO. Well see. Anybody playing d&d online, gw, or lotro? Im probably in the wrong forum at this point... playing: darkfall |

The next game I'll play is Champions Online most likely. I liked City of Heroes, and Champions Online is kind of like CoH 2, but with alot of upgrades, including no targeting. Until then I'll be in Dark Age of Camelot smashing Tree Huggin Hibbies, and Beheading skilless Albs. :) |

Both earthrise and MO look promising. Fallen earth and champions looked good but lesser sandboxish. But you can only wait, right now the info on both those games is sparce. Reality in the end is going to check in sometime. |

I dont understand how people worry about what MMO they will play exclusively. Maybe when you first start playing you feel like you can't go back to regular games again but that wears off. I've actually only been a paying subscriber to two MMOs. UO from late 97 to 2000 and PlanetSide from early 04 to mid 07. I learned about EQ by watching a friend play it, a guy that started UO with me. Didnt see the appeal of PvE games. Skipped them. I've done trials for Anarchy Online, Neocron and EVE. Didn't care for them. I did the Face of Mankind beta for 4 months before giving up on that game ever improving. Played on a couple free classic UO shards for several months but I didnt meet any nice people on those servers. Just a bunch of tools, kiddies and Euros who are just now getting American music from 1997 and Ultima Online apparently. When I wasn't playing MMOs I was revisiting my classics like Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete and the C&C and StarCraft games. Tried out a lot of different shooters with online play. Spent about 18 months playing FEAR. That game had the most under-rated MP ever as far as FPS is concerned. When PunkBuster support for the game ended (dick move Vivendi) I moved on to BF2142 and have been there for a couple years to present day. Think I might start playing CoD4. I bought it months ago, started a round and got kicked by PunkBuster because of some problem with my PB install. Tried updating, didn't work. So I shelved CoD4 that same day. I dont even bother with the single player content anymore. Waste of time. Been there, done that, had the boss fight. Im looking forward to either Mortal Online or Earthrise, whoever has a beta I can get into first. I was looking forward to Darkfall but Aventurine decided open PvP and FPSish combat was enough of a hook to excuse their sorry pile of shit they're pawning off as a game. Another game that ended up being shitty that I did not buy was FEAR 2 Project Origin. The game didn't even have server files a week after release so you could only play online if someone hosted a game from their personal computer. They put giant robots in and screwed up the level design to accommodate the stupid things so now everything is wide open. To top it off the game was a shitty port from console to PC. You couldn't completely customize the mouse and the screen was letterboxed because there was no 16:10 support. No anti-cheat support either. Waited for that game to come out for like a year. Posted a big F.U. on Monolith's forums and told them to clean up their act or choke. Gamers have to learn patience and prudent consumerism. Unfortunately I learned today that 96% of the gaming market is male and under age 30, the average age being 18. That means the average gamer is a complete sucker and will buy any piece of shit any company makes... Like anyone who's still a darkfall fan after everything we've seen in the past two months... or has to have an MMO to play NOW. Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise. |

ive played just about EVERYTHING. the only two games I can recommend right now is Lord of the rings online and world of warcraft. i feel these are the only 2 games that are currently adding new content and gameplay to make there game better, not just new zones nd quest. mines of moria and WOTLK are great expansions. warhammer is fun for about a month or 2, then you realize how repetative and linear it is, PVE is a joke in WAR. AOC has great graphics, but is very instanced and not well thought out, you dont get the sense of a big huge world. Stay away from low budget garbage ike vanguard, game is horrible, after 30 days i wanted my time back i spent on the game, worse game models ever, very unoptimized engine, flat, ghost world. EQ2, lol, thats all i can say about it, maybe it was fun 5 yers ago, but its 2009. EVE, i want to level a character, not a spaceship, couldnt get into this one. like is said either LOTRO or WOW. THIS IS MY OPINON please do not quote me and whine and aurgue it. If you like game i have said bad things about, you have the right to, dont take it personal. |
