GM recieves a complaint about "UserXYZ"

GM knows this user and has them on MSN and decides to confront the user directly

although the GM knows this user, he doesnt know him on a personal level and doesnt know that the user has been account hacking etc etc but because the GM regards the user as a kind of friend, he is more likey to believe his friends lies than the truth of an unknown.

The other scenario of course is: After our cheating "UserXYZ" is caught and has his ill gotten gains removed by GM1, he talks to GM2 (his friend) and tells GM2 of how he has been wronged by a GM, that the stuff was his etc etc etc and once again plays on his friendship with a person in power,,,, and after enough complaining and lying GM2 believes his friend and re-returns the stolen goods to the thief.

It is not story of dodgy GM's, it is a story of liars abusing the trust and friendship with GM's

I no longer play this game, but i did, for nearly 2 years, i was in a good guild, with good friends on an ok server. i got an archer to lvl 92 and lots of other characters up to similar levels... and i basically got really really really bored with each one.  The game has nothing new once you get your levels a bit higher, its just a boring grind, i guess i will go back to it someday,,, maybe when i run out of RW money and need a good free mmorpg

as for account hackers / stealers, they dont exist, in the real world a thief did not "break and enter" if you leave your front door open

if your char name is the same as your username for the account all he has to do is guess your password, or use a commonly available brute force guessing tool.  In any MMORGP there are only 2 kinds of people, 1. the sensible and secure who keep an account ,,,, 2. the people who give login's to other people for whatever reason and have the account stolen.

if you give your keys to your car to a thief and tell him to take it for a spin, the police would do nothing and your insurance would not pay out,,,, so why on earth should any game developer waste time and money chasing the accounts of the stupid

anyway thats my 2c worth, im not saying the game is "the best" or anything, but its certainly not a total waste of time, and not nearly as bad as you guys are making it out to be, its free,,, what has any new player got to loose by trying it ????

People become hacked, yess thats right. BUT HOW DO THEY GOT HACKED??

If u logg in on a website or someting like that and give u pasw and so on for nice items or money, u will become hacked yesssss.

If u use the aimbots and speedhack and all the hacks for advantages in the game, u will become hacked,  yess correct....

I played this game for all of 4 days. It was quite enjoyable at first, then I found the two problems that made me quit: kill stealing (I know it's not all botting, as one player stopped to  tell me how he'd just "pwned" me ) and what I see as a fault with the unrestricted PKing. That being the fact that, if you're in peace mode, you've basically committed suicide. You can't attack other players, but anyone in PK mode can attack and kill you freely. WTF? How can that possibly make any sense to anyone?

A player on the CO forum told me I was just sore because I didn't kill them first. No, that has nothing to do with it. I don't care about PKing, because that's not why I play these games. If I want to go PvP, I'll go to an arena type area. In 2+ years on City of Heroes, I've never even been tempted to go PvP.

I think they should make it alot clearer on their website that this game is aimed more at people who enjoy PKing.

1. unless you pay real money to get ingame items your gonna suck and people can kill you freely

2. so repetitave ive i wanted to go around swinging what i think might be a sword and killing pheasants till im level ten id just buy a sword go pheasant hunting with it and make a charcter sheet for myself its funner and supriseingly less degrating than co

3. awful community i ask people for help i getkilled i ask gms i get nothing wtf

4. lame bosses all they are is bigger versions of the animals u just killed for hours and they call them kings

5. horrible quests and none of them the quests are so retarded and you get one like every 20 levels whats the meaning of grind again?

When lookin at screenshots i got a strange feeling of goin back in time... but whatever, graphics isn't the most important, so i'm headin to their main page in order to read smth bout classes and races.

I gave this game a chance, knowing I'd be regretting it. And I sure did.

Nothing more than a stand alone client Asian-runescape. It kept my interest for 5 minutes before I un-installed it.

Why shouldnt ppl play this game? Simple: It sucks! The graphics r crap, you cant rotate the camera, the controls r limited, its constantly at a difficult angle to manipulate, and overall its just a really, really boring thing!!!

Heh, all this stuff makes the game sound fun actually.  Most games have such crappy pvp systems designed to protect crappy players.  GM's are best when they don't do anything.  If people get hacked then its their own fault.

I guess Conquer Online's company/makers have paid attention to what you guys sadi. I just tried it out, and found it to be not that bad at all. I mean, geez, its a free to play game with a pretty big population.

Like the bots and hacking? Never happened to me or my friends in the game... but I guess used to happen a lot.

Oh and I can see you your point with the 2d backgrounds -they're pretty old Diablo 1 style. I guess I like gameplay moe than aesthetiks

I just have lost 2 hours from my life trying this game...its laaaame....boring and have nothing to do with a real online game...

I had just been given a warning about posting excessive negative comments here. I'll just read your comments. ^^

played this game back in 05 (i think can't remember exatly) for about 3 years and it was a lot of fun.

had a warrior with 6 sockets and back then it was the shit just to have sockets on non weapon items. never bought dbs till after first reborn to make my unique to supers so i wouldn't have to grind as a noob again. had lots of fun.

then came the botters.   fucking ruined the game and then in order to compete you had to cheat and hack and exploit yoruself because the gms didn't give a shit. i ended using bots to lvl up alts, multi client, and many others. there was no way to play this game if you didnt' do it yourself because everyone was using it.

botters died down for a while, and then they introduced the stupid market system or what ever it's called. now in order to play this game you gotta pay money. wasn't like before where you bought dbs to make the grind a little easier and give yourself cool looking weapons. now it's pay or be cannon fodder for the bulkers. it destroyed the game's economy.

this is a good game but they ruined it.

my last days playing this game all i did was make alts and copied people's names and added the blank space character and hanged out at ape city and start fights by whispering to people on my alts with the copied names of others and watch them kill each other.
