Too bad it's goon propaganda but ohh well, at least you see how all trolls calling it's lag fest was wrong. |

I'm sorry man but this still doesn't tell us anything about the other 199 people in the battle or what kind of rig he was using. Most of us don't have 2 grand computer |

the characters in battle looked odd....flat...like paper mario...in that battle that is .....but the battle seemed intense. Does it compare or do better than the RvR battles of DAoC or WAR, and the city battles of Shadowbane? If so please explain. just dont look totally new....seems like they borrowed stuff from existing mmos with some twist. |

Well, the only 'twist' is fps style of combat and believe me it changes immersion. I will never play again game with auto targeting. This is most fun game I played for years. Don't expect wonders since this is indie company. It have some flaws, need more content besides PvP ( which is great ). PvE is also a lot of fun and first time I really enjoyed farming mobs. Don't expect many quests but I think they will add them with time (if game can handle this kind of battle 7-8 days after launch then it must improve over time). The biggest problem right now is getting game. They want to eliminate as many bugs as possible before opening new servers so demand is a lot higher than supply right now. But I prefer this than companies selling 750 000 copies at launch and fixing bugs months later. |

Thanks for the video. I knew the graphics, animations and 3 attacks (MM, Bow, and Weapon) looked horrid in all the screenshots I have seen but I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and wait for something more concrete to display it.
The video looks just like the screens and reviews I have read, shallow mouth-breathing click-fest combat.
You just saved me 60 bucks. |

The free aiming casts are something that makes me think "where else have i seen this?" Looks interesting. were there like objectives to accomplish in this raid? besides the pvp... on a side note iv read and heard getting the game is a chore so far as i havent seen it at any retail, withch if u dont know its being released by just digital download. if some one has an account though ill surely accept it

Looks awesome as usual. Hardcore!

There are mobs and semigods that can be killed only with larger group of players but there are no instances at all (so you can loose loot to enemies hiding in bushes behind you :P). Full loot upon death and possibility to siege castles and towns is goal in PvP. Of course you can roam around looking for prey. Game don't force you to do anything and 'end game' starts after your first log in just like in EVE online. Again, getting this game is a bit difficult right now but it should improve over time. EDIT: Also this video was taken 7 days after release. Don't expect people running around with high level spells or using other melee skills (skill is to actually hit someone, believe me:P) |

Ahem. I give them credit for being an indie developer trying to bring PvP back to where it should be in MMORPGs (the old days of UO and AC1 Darktide)...but that video makes DF look horrible. The animations...the graphics...horrible. I am one who does believe gameplay is the most important thing in a game but decent animations and graphics need to be there too. The animations and graphics from that video make the game look over 10 years old easily. |

Not sure how to say this without creating problems. My question is though. Why is it that even in this video you see the same spell being cast as all the others (mana missile or whatever it's called)? Every Darkfall video I've seen the same spell. Are all the other spells just useless? |

I did specify in my reply "from that video" to stress I was talking about what it looked like from the video posted. |

Allright
The graphics are scaleable (for PVP or Eyecandy) and thats a good thing |

It's 7 days after launch... Mm is making around 10 dmg (14 at lvl 100). Best spells used in beta hit for 40+ dmg. They are far from useless. |

heh, I'd been a follower of Darkfall for 2+ years but, quite frankly, seeing this now with a bit more open mind....
I can't believe how bad it looks.
It was too good to be true: an indy developer, underfunded, making the perfect game. Oh well, here's to more waiting... |

Then why does no one use them? Or are you saying they share the same spell effect as the newbie spell. So what I think is the newbie spell really isn't the newbie spell. I'm really not sure what was implied by the 7 day statement. 7 days and still using newbie spells? That doesn't sound like what I have read about skill gain rate. |

I have seen a few poison bolts (or whatever the poison dd is) allready since release but that was from 1 player. Also if i remember (btw havent played yet) mana missle is free to cast (except the mana cost) while other spells require regents. Protip: If someone does NOT list at least one positive and one negative about the game they are critiquing, its best to ignore the post. |

I am pretty torn whether or not I want to try this. The idea of skill based / open pvp / full looting is incredibly enticing. However i've played far too many MMO's that had great ideas but never seemed to pan out in gameplay. 50$ or what not is a drop in the bucket, I'll probably end up getting a copy whenever it's available...but i'm unsure if something as simple looking as that could keep my interest. Here's hoping, god knows we could all use a entertaining diversion about now. |

MMOs require more reasoning and imagination than most stereotypically ''adult'' activities. |

*Looks at the video* sigh I'd just like to add that the ideas/concepts that the game tries to realize are noble ones. But Aventurine are obviously the wrong developers to do it. From looking at that video and all the others I have seen over the last month, it's very clear that AV doesn't have the talent or backing--the potential producers can also see they don't have the talent--to pull it off at a level of quality that is acceptible to me. |

Well, finally, from this video I can see why people say this game is fun to play. Terms like "epic" and "ground breaking" and "history making" still seem exaggerated. The graphics and animations aren't the best. But that battle looks like it would have been fun to be a part of. Still not sure it would be worth subbing to for me, but I might get the game and play the free month out. WoW is the new MUD. |
