Ok, so my last LFGame thread fell to pieces, and I am going to make a new one that may offer more info about me, that may allow for better recommendations. My last thread was vague and just asked for a steampunk MMO, or a gun based MMO, but since those are scarce here are more things I expect:

I have played World of Warcraft, Anarchy Online, Everquest 2, Cabal, and Atlantica, Mu, Perfect World, and Second Life. In World of Warcraft I enjoyed the guild system and the emotes, and fluid body motions. I also enjoyed levelling via quests, I never grinded mobs such that I sat there for hours on end grinding mobs. In Anarchy Online I enjoyed the class flexibility and the community, the community was very mature and well mannered, and did not act like disfunctional children. Anarchy Online was the mmo that I enjoyed the most, by far, however the graphics were outdated when I started playing and the game has recently gone to pay to play. I do not feel the need to pay for such graphics. In Everquest 2 I enjoyed the character detail and the amazing graphics. I enjoyed the many different character creation sliders and all the different races and classes and combinations possible. I also enjoyed the mature player base in Everquest 2. I cannot stand an immature player base, it is the ultimate factor, if the players are idiots in my eyes, then I must move on to another mmo. Stupid comments piss me off, as do irrational ones. This may be contributed to the fact that many say I have Asperger's Syndrome, as I am a university student who could care less about social interaction and social norms ( I find them useless). To find a mature player base it is often recommended to have a higher level of difficulty in the mmo, so I would prefer a complicated mmo. (BTW the Anarchy Online population was the best I have ever found, also the brightest). I did not like Second Life at all, the only thing to do was have sex, and there was too much lag to even play.

I am looking for a free to play or pay to play mmo. It MUST have 3d graphics and a medium populace, preferably with some roleplaying. I prefer WASD or Arrow Keys, if possible gamepad compatibility, as I used that to travel in WoW (it was more fun than the keyboard, and if i knew I wasn't fighting it was awesome to travel between A and B). I also enjoy fantasy and sci-fi settings.

In short, if you are too ingorant to read the full text; I am looking for:

-A MMORPG, free to play, or pay to play.

-A mature community, result from a complex mmo.

-3D graphics and WASD or mouse movement.

-Complex character creation with a high degree of specialization ( alot of ways to look different).

-A Sci-fi or Fantasy setting.

-A moderate populace.

-Roleplaying aswell as combative elements.

-A talkative and English environment.

-I have tried WoW, Anarchy Online (fav), Everquest 2, Cabal, Mu, Perfect World, Guild Wars, Atlantica, Second Life, Project Entropia, Flyff, and.....I hated the Korean fail MMOs by the way.

-I really would like properly translated text, you know "Materials" instead of  "Matiriels" and other such FAIL Korean translations.

I know its alot to ask, and there isn't probably any MMO ever created that meets these requirements (other than real life.....j/k...sorta.....but there are alot of idiots in real life too...) but if you have any suggestions, other than to stop being a stuck up asshat, I would love to hear them :D

And by suggestions I mean a reccomended MMO that meets my requirements :D

Give LotRO and Vanguard a shot. Most RP folks in VG hang out at Seradon, Landroval is the unofficial LotRO RP server in US.

They should have the things you requested, and both have free trials available. In both games some guildshopping to find one to suit you is a good idea.

Playing: LotRO, EvE
Played: UO, DaoC, Horizons, Ryzom, WAR
Honourable mention: Vanguard as the last ever $OE title...

Lord of the Rings Online maybe? I can't think of too many things that meet all or even most of your criteria. What exactly is wrong with WoW to make you look for something else? Also if you're really that hung up on, and I quote, "I cannot stand an immature player base, it is the ultimate factor, if the players are idiots in my eyes, then I must move on to another mmo. Stupid comments piss me off, as do irrational ones. ", you won't find too many solutions because every single mmorpg out there will always have people you would consider idiots, or people who made a comment that is stupid or irrational.

Furthermore, you say you "could care less about social interaction and social norms", which is fine because I'm partially like that myself, but if so, why even play a mmorpg in the first place? There are some quality single player rpgs out there where you won't run into these problems which you say bother you.

But to sum up, Lord of the Rings Online might be for you, and no I haven't played it, and I don't know how extensive character customization is, but I do know it focuses on questing, has a free trial, and is decently populated, along with being a Western MMORPG so you won't have to deal with many foreigners or bad translations.

I think I will give it [LOTRO] a try :D And the reason that I play MMOs is cause I'm 18. Have you ever tried to have a conversation with an 18 year old of today about something other than rap, sex, drugs, or some such topic? Something like genetics, the relation of muscle hypertrophy to the use of anabolic steroids, or the existence of anti-matter and it supposed different types? They generally don't have much or any knowledge in these fields, and that makes me look for people online to socialize with. Also I left WoW because the population was extremely immature and had grown worse since I started playing. And after 3.5 years of the same caps spamming, anti-RP community, who are self centered, and don't ever offer to help I decided to look for somewhere more mature. Plus in WoW noone even tries to socialize its all just "Gear!!!Gear!!!Gear!!! I needs a bigger epeen!!! I must win in the pvp!". I tried to say "Hello" "Greetings *bows* My name is >char name<" ect, but people are not into that kinda stuffs ^  ^ Well Thanks for the reccomendations :D

Fighting my way through a sea of MMOs

If all you hated about WoW was the immature anti-rp community perhaps you should try an RP server, they were worlds different. Although not my cup of tea seems to solve your problem.

If you had asked this about a year ago, I would have definately said ROSE online. However, the game recently went F2P and I'm not sure how that affected the game overall.

When I used to play, it had:

  • The most mature community I've ever seen in an MMO. Almost all adults 21+, some even playing with their kids.
  • 3D graphics with arrow key movement. It's an oldie, unfortunately, and never had wasd. Maybe that'll change
  • Char. Customization is moderate. Quite a few hair and eyes to choose from, but you couldn't change anything else. But, when you upgrade your equips, it adds a slight tint of shine to it. (A perfectly upgraded piece of armor is nearly blinding :)). You can also add one of seven (there may be more now) different gems to your equips, which also change the appearance of them.
  • Fantasy setting.
  • Moderate population. The main cities are FULL of player shops/players, but the other locations have not too much and not too little people.
  • I'm not really sure what roleplaying is, but I don't think this has much of it. I suppose that depends on the people you befriend though.
  • Friendly, talkative, English-based community. However, supposedly, the game has been recently overrun with pinoys.

Ya i agree with BlueKid.  Although i havent played SWG in a really long time, i doubt much has changed with the player base other than it becoming smaller.  I actually have some friends trying to get me to come back to it, but i am hesitant just because i might rather wait for the KOTR Star Wars mmo coming out in the nearish future.

As to maturity levels and trying to cast certain traits across a whole player base for a game, thats just cause you never found the right people.  the other root to that issue is that wow caters mainly to the casual gamer, which means casual attitudes.  Games that require more time, and more effort just to complete the menial tasks tend to have a little bit more mature audience because the have the patience to go through it, and enjoy the smaller things rather than just getting the next piece of loot or getting to the next level.

I'm downloadering it as we type, it takes 7 hours though :O

I wonder what I should be, I was a druid in WoW, and wanted to be a rogue...........so mayby, maybe a jedi? But jedi are probaby rampant cause everyone will want to be like "Luke Sywalkerz omg!" or "OMG Anakin Hot OMG!".....what is another good melee class?

Don't know if this will be your cup of tea but EVE would pretty much touch on all things except wasd movement since you're in space and character creation isn't real in depth but as to what you can do with him after creation as far as an open skill system is wide open.  It's a complete sandbox game and has a very mature community.  There is def. RPing there as well and they even have RP forums where you have to be in character and what not.  It definitely has PvP as well as a good PvE aspect.  Like I said not sure if it will be your cup of tea plus it has a steap learning curve but there are plenty of guides out there.  Check out the webpage and read up on it, it has a 14 day free trial so see if you like it.

Warhammer has a 10-day trial now. You can give it a try before you decide.
