Besides, every company has their "hardcore fanboys" who will tirelessly promote their game, and bash others, for free.  Why pay someone for something that many people will do for free, anyway?Not to mention most people who have basic logic skills will dismiss the rabid fanboys, and also ignore the obvious trolls..  These troll vs fanboy posts don't really encourage or discourage people from buying a game.  Usually it's the more obviously objective reviews that will hold sway with the gaming public.

There where plenty of beta testers warning community that game is just not ready and devs should delay a few months they did not.

So all who playing now should shut the fuck up if you complain its your own fault even with al the cheaters its your own fault if you have problems with that.

AV was just not ready and competent to run a business and launch a game.

If Darkfall is a scam then every single MMOPG released in the last 8 years is too. I fail to name one mmorpg released finished.

Its obvious Darkfall was WAY overhyped. If people did enough research they would know by just looking at the website that the game was created out of some guys garage. Underfunded and no marketing/market research team.

I dont know about you but if someone told me I could get a sweet item that does x, y, and z for 20 bucks then only got an item that could do z, that is the very essence of a scam.

The fact these folks are getting a "game" isnt what is in question. The fact of the matter is they arent getting what is advertised. So anyone unaware of the actual condition of the game, and buy based upon the deceit of Tacos, and his website are indeed being scammed.

Too many folks on this site think they are bright/intelligent/witty...when if fact it isnt the case. They feel they are justified to make a post "dissing" others, when it reality they end up stepping on their own tallywhacker in the attempt. Displaying just how clueless they indeed are.

You are from florida. In florida you could in fact be held liable for slander based on the above qoute. Messed up isnt it. I only say this because i remember a case last year where a lady in florida was ripping on a competitor in an online forum telling everyone he was horrible and he sued her into poverty.

Remember you can give facts, but to say it is a scam you must have proof or you can be held accountable for any financial damage done to a company through your efforts to sway people into not purchasing their product.

For instance, you can't stand outside of a car dealer and tell everyone that drives on to the lot that the car dealer only sells lemons.

As far as i know florida is the only state in america that has taken it so far as to include online forums LOL.

Slander is spoken, libel is usually written, even in Florida.  Florida recognizes "opinion" as a defense.

Sorry all i see is an indy company having a rough go of their first release. AV would have an easier time winning a slander case than the OP would have defending his view point that the game is a scam and anyone ever involved in a slander case knows how hard they are to actually win.

A scam involves conspiracy to defraud. Proving that AV conspired over the last 8 years to defraud gamers would be near impossible. Not only that. It's completely moronic.

Anyway it was just a thought that creeped into my hungover head at 5am so take it for what it's worth.. not much LOL

I honestly don't see anything unusual or unexpected in anything that has transpired with this launch. As a matter of fact i recall pre-launch that AV said there would be limited quantities available and that they could only afford to have 1 server up at launch.

I cancelled my DFO account over a week ago and just got billed 42 Euro for digital download.

Time to call the bank.

What does canceling your account have to do with the purchase of the game?

A good example of a scam is releasing a MMOG, promising never to add any form of RMT, allowing players to invest a year or two into the game and their characters, then adding RMT like SOE has done.

That's not true. If you look on the side of any SOE product box it specifically states that the gameplay experience is subject to change.

Although i agree with you that it's BS :P

Sorry, early in the morning, coffee is still brewing. But, ya, double billed, way after the fact. They sent me a lovely invoice though.

Honestly i feel sorry for nobody that purchased this game an now regrets it. It's not like this forum was a ringing endorsement for the game or the company. You didn't listen and now you regret it. WAH LOL.

If you're enjoying the game cool but those who are whining about it now have no leg to stand on.

since you can get your money back from the bank cuase its a scam and false advertisement i think il beleave that more then some ignorant fanbot im suprised everyone hasent done the same yet

Listen fanboi...I dont give a ratz arse one way or another about DF. For the sake of its players I hope it succeeds, as I am a fellow gamer. I sure havent spent my time trolling you guys since launch.

That is neither here nor there...the point in question is "what is a scam". DF is selling their game with information found on their web site that is totally offbase for their actual game. Things that have been cut, and not going to reappear are being displayed as of yet.

I cant give details, but there is a thread that gives all that information, down to the detail, if you look on this first page of this forum(dont think it was this thread). It goes thru all the features showing what is in, and what isnt. A substantial list of key items are missing from the implementation of game.

So like I said...it is classic definition of a scam. The very epitome according to webster.

The only reason I commented in thread is cause so many folks are using their own definition of "scam" vs what one in actuality is. Including yourself.

Now spare us the hung over excuse, as you spoke when you shouldnt of. You wanna argue with someone, then take it up with Webster and the English language. Sheesh

You are overlooking the fact that Smedley himself said specifically he would never allow RMT to be introduced to EQ and EQ2 non exchange servers. That supersedes any vague catch all legalese written in small print.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the game itself. I saw the warnings and wanted to see for myself anyway. The initial costs associated with trying the game do not bother me at all nor does the experience. I knew full well the risk I was taking.

Fraudulent credit card charges weren't expected though.
