One of my most valued traits in a game is a good sieging/rvr type of gameplay. As much as i do enjoy PvE, i enjoy "consentual" PvP. The way I look at it, PvE is a way of becoming a better PvP player by increasing in levels, and learning the abilities of your toon. So i think, in the grand scheme, that area should be left alone in the aspect of becoming cannon fodder for another player and just enjoy a risk free way of "practicing" so to speak.

However I do believe an entire nother world for PvP is the best way to go. That's why I enjoyed DAoC so much many moons ago.

With that said, one of the best seiging system "ideas" (i say ideas because the implementation didn't work out so well) was shadowbane. Even though the game was full of constant lag and horrendus amounts of bugs and instability, I absolutely loved there sieging system. If they had fixed the exploits and toned down the "abilities" to negate castle walls (ie flying/teleport etc..) it may have had a real chance to shine.

I was looking for something similar in a more modern MMO. I've read alot about warhammer but all I seem to get are negative reviews. I was also informed about Lineage 2, of which I played, but never got high enough to get anywhere with it. However i'm not thrilled about the free for all PvP as I stated earlier.

I would truly like to find an intricate sieging system to which I can enjoy my few hours of playtime a week. Playermade castles by guilds in shadowbane has always been a light in my eye as a great idea.

So if anyone has any ideas for something similar, i would be open to it. Graphics arent even an issue in this case. I find the ideas and implementation of such a system far more appealing than pretty colors and armor. However I have (or rather will tomorrow) a top end system that can handle even AoC at pretty good settings(another ganme i was looking at as well).

This is getting old to answer to lfgame posts in one word darkfall :)) Its seams there are bunch of stuff you would like :)

When i started to read your post i though you would enjoy l2, but if you played it and you didint like it...  After all you could give a try to private servers. As you may know,  playing in  private servers you can get all good stuff in a blink of the eye... and then you could decide if you like it or not :)

One more game i can suggest (im realy waiting for it) is aion i dont know much about pvp but you could find some info from korean open beta. There are raidbosses and i think you can find castle sieges too not 100%, but something like that.

Well good luck :)

To bump off of what Albers said, what he said is true. The PvP system for Aion, in certain situations will be RvR. There will be castle sieges as well. But what truly makes this game interesting is the PvPvE concept. In which other mobs can interfere with your PvP experience, and turn the tide in your favor or against you. There will be a designated area just specifically meant for PvPing, The Abyss. Also a cool feature in Aion, is as you PvP more, you gain a PvP rank. And as your rank increases, you get a new style of wings. Which allows other players to gauge how you do in PvP, allowing well-known players to stand out due to their different wings. I'm truly wishing this game would already make it's release.

If you have any more questions or concerns, feel free to PM me or check out: www.aionsource.com for information.

I hope this has been helpful. Happy Gaming.
