I'm at a total loss here. This game released on 2/25. I would like to buy and try the game but I have no idea how to do this. I visit the DF site and now over a week after release I still keep seeing news about Beta and Beta first impressions. I would expect to see a big "Darkfall has released" announcement and big link buttons that would take me to account setup and client download pages. Or at the very least an announcement as to why these things are not there. What gives??? |

To sum it up - a relatively small company took on a monumental task, and in doing so they realized that they could only plan and compensate for so much before they tried to launch this game. Updating the website takes time, not much time, but some - that they would (and SHOULD) be using to get their game up and running smoothly.
I do agree with you though, it needs to be updated for the very reason you made this post in the first place. “The contents of this post do not necessarily reflect the views of MMORPG.com and its management.” HOWEVER - On my blog, I say whatever I want. http://balance-reviews.blogspot.com/ |

I'm going to assume that after the first 2-3 weeks or so of launch, getting over all those the launch issues, that they'll then update their website.

Here is a better and more accurate translation - Aventurine already has more customers than they have the capacity to handle and, as this is the case, it makes absolutely no sense to try to further market the game at this time. Such an action would simply create many more pissed of gamers.
Give it a few weeks, I suppose. |

since the op isn't an avid fanboi, let us make certain he understands that the capacity of players/accounts for av currently is somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000. yes, 5 - 10 thousand. supposedly they are supposed to be able to handle around 10,000 players per server (initially, and it is supposed to expand like eve). but, at launch they took around 5,000-6,000 players and had to deal with the glitches/bugs resulting from that stress test (yes, post-retail), and they are slowly adding a few more players each day, and i don't believe they've hit the 10k max for their first server yet. so, i'm thinking in hindsight... my translation was still pretty on the money. but hey, i don't get paid to hype some random game, just like a lot of people hyping it don't get paid. could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please? |

No, your translation was simply filled with spite and inuendo, when the obvious reason why Aventurine has not tried to further market their product is due to the fact that they simply cannot handle the current demand as it currently stands.
I hope you understand the difference... |

Originally posted by Zorndorf The game may be excellent, but no one can see it to verify, that's the interesting part. In fact the game could be the worst piece ever produced in human history, it would still be heralded by the guys pushing F5 for 12 hours. In the long run, it is what some mmorpg players pay for: fake things.
All true, but regardless, the game is indeed very good. |
