Well i played DAOC on launch and 6 months after launch it had less to do then WAR does. Also all they re adding soon and the future is insane> Not comparing DAOC and WAR, they re different games, but it has improved and is only getting better. DAOC is still my all time fave yet it s funny how quickly people forget how little there was to do in that game so close after launch. |

The thing is it could easily take 3 months to get level 50 in DAoC. Also, your only choices were UO or EQ. Honestly, you can't really compare the launches due to the insane amount of competition out there right now. WAR should have been ready to rock at launch or shortly after. Sadly, I think the devs thought all this PvE was what WAR players wanted.
I cancelled WAR long ago, so I have no clue how it is now. When I cancelled I mostly did it due to lack of PVP. The servers seemed to empty of people overnight. A PVP game needs people to be fun, imo.
If Mythic wants me to try the game again they are going to have to give me another free week or month. I won't give it another chance if it cost me even more money. |

The game obviously would Make or break on how well they handled the Population, and class balence. In interview they ansered that the experience from DAoC would really help them and that the situation was in total control. Well... Where is the xp bonus for being totaly outnumbered in a RvR Lake? From launch being underdog in a RvR lake should have given xp/RP/Inf bonus to offset the number of opponent your fighting! If you manage to kill 1 player when your outnumbered 3 to 1 it should give 3 times more xp, no? Well everyone gets the same xp fora kill no mater what. So the overpopulated side Zergs the underdog=Gets more kills=lvl faster= makes the problem even biger.
And thats why this game failed in my eye's. Its to late now. |

He's referring to you creating a post, so you could complain about posts where people were complaining. |

I just got bored, there was something about WAR that was just unfun for me. ![]() |

I just cancelled my sub. Like I said in another post, WAR is a one-trick pony as far as I'm concerned. The PvP is awesome, but it feels like that's all there is. I will keep an eye on it though, and if things change for the better I'll revisit it. Evil will always win, because Good is dumb. |

OP is obviously a worked up clown himself making such VALID points... I am a casual gamer and therefore i really like WAR. I agree game is lacking PvE content. But i am not a big fan of raiding and apart from that WAR is not that gear oriented like WoW where what You wear is what You are... WAR's major flaw is that it doesn't have that hook that keeps You playing after conquering the region, doing PQ's, scenarios... There's no housing, no proper crafting, even the keeps You hold don't and can't really stay with You for longer... In the game where balance between two warring sides shifts so often, You can't really see any change... Just like in WoW. No matter how many bosses, lich kings, historic scale battles You win, it all lasts till the next respawn. Sacking a city is a series of PQ's which i was really dissapointed with. Locking down a region is cool but after 6 hours of battling there's no other choice but ot log off, mission accomplished. You can't go back to crafting or furnishing that house You'be bought... That was what i liked about Vanguard. A living world, where adventuring and fighting could be put aside and get involved in something else. I loved doing diplomacy quests, although simplified and a bit silly it was a great downtime between raiding and questing. I still play WAR though, as i really like the lore and massive battles between human players which are just amazing to watch and participate. |

I'm not saying WAR is a bad game but I didn't last beyond tier 3. The game just didn't offer me anything that I felt was new or revolutionary enough to keep me hooked. I like the RvR concept but the classes didn't seem all that fun or unique and I really hated the lack of any sort of meaningful crafting as well. I hope the game does well but I don't foresee it being something I'm coming back to.

The lack of crafting in this game killed it for me. I did enjoy the pvp but I need more then that and crafting is a big part of any online game I will pay to play. |

One thing I noticed is when I let my sub lapse by accident, I was surprised that the company didn't ask why I was quitting or where I was going! At least they let me know my sub had expired! First time that's happened to me but then I've never played a GOA game before. |

Ghost town servers is why i left. Merge all the servers into a 10-12 and i'll be back. I remember the OPEN beta was a blast and i could'nt wait for the game to launch. But when they lauch, they release like 100 servers spreading everyone all over the place. I remember a week after launch how difficult it was to do the PQ ! 1 WEEK AFTER LAUNCH ! Can you imagine what it is today ? |

I have some reasons why i have left: #1: No oRVR in T3 - T4 (in T4, i never found a party or anyone on my path, i felt like i was the only one playing the game, wich is very bad for a mmorpg) #2: Quiet game, nobodies talk, there's no community in game and has i am a RPer, well it's kinda hard to be interested into a game that feel dead! I want to come back some day, when both of this will be solve! |

It seems the 6 months rule does not apply anymore for new mmorpgs... Should it be 1 year rule? I usually try out new mmorpgs on the first month, and then wait out 6 months. That's the usual time required for companies to balance and fix the game. But from what i've seen, they used the DAOC approach. More content, no balancing and fixing. They crammed updates after updates after updates in DAOC of new content without ever fixing anything. I think I left for 3 months and they screwed over the new population (everyone was lost and party less), until they added the huge xp boost that makes you get to cap level in 3 days.

Because WoW PvP is bad...WAR's RVR could use improvement, but it's still way better than that of WoW. 3. Maybe all of your friends are playing WoW, but that's not the same for everyone. In my case, almost none of my friends play WoW. ------------------------------------------ |
