I know a lot of you have read a LOT of reviews, but this one is very accurate, and very detailed in terms of how Darkfall works. The only biased opinion I'd say he has is that he plays the game, and he's a big hardcore crafter that likes it hard and grindy. He's right about stability of the client and the "exploiting" comments. They are blown out of proportion.
EDIT; Forgot the link :P

Might want to post the actual review. |

Cool, bro. Next time click "Reply," instead of "New Thread." Playing: EVE Online |

He lost me after this... "For everyone else, I think this game is simply not for you as it most likely will be too difficult to understand the mechanics, the "What do I do now" feeling, and the general frustration of learning something of this magnitude." We're still talking about a video game right? Do you have to be card carrying member of Mensa to fully comprehend Darkfall? "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." |

Hopefully this one will have some real substance. The only good review I've read so far was by Paragus
Darn- Blackheart wrote a pure WALL. Paragus has trophy so far. But I'll try to get through this wall. Looks like it will have some substance to it. Still --- much too early for a review for me. MMOs shouldnt be reviewed for a good few months. I consider everything I see just 'first impressions' atm |

Reviews are good to a certain extent, but in the end it's like someone trying to explain what ice cream tastes like; you really won't know until you've tried it yourself. Wake me up when there's a free trial... Evil will always win, because Good is dumb. |

That wasn't what he was trying to convey. DF is soo different from the casual MMORPGs that most people have been playing that the first couple hours in DF could be a game breaker for them. Not only that, the UI isn't exactly user friendly. I think thats what he was talking about. |

WTF!!!! That's the wall of China. So in summary does it suck or is it good whoever bothered reading? |

Soon as he mentioned he used to be a heavy supporter of Irth/DnL and AoC I didn't bother reading the rest. Guess he can add Darkfall to his Failed list in his next review =)

So you think when a game is not as WoW....its broken? And the review was great. With Paragus review and this, you will get the big picture what DF is about. You might not like. But its just a game. |

Christ on a stick, i saw that wall of text from outer space! Don't have the time to read it now but might do so after work. |

Stopped reading here: How is the sound, immerisve? Sound for me is a mixed bag. While they are definitely adequate, there are currently 2 big sound issues that piss me off. First the sound in the game when scaled up or down changes your PCs master volume. This gets annoying when trying to use Ventrillo or another voip type application to talk with your in game buddies. The second is that fighting sounds (swords clanking, spells casing, etc) do not seem to scale properly with distance. I can hear fights WAY far away and I often have to check my health to make sure I am not being attacked. I really hope this gets fixed because this kills the immersion a little bit and its really damn annoying. This guy has no clue or he's totally biased. |
