Go do a bit a research on Aventurine. It will make you realise how much bullshit Mr Mexcian Tacos has been spinning about the company and game. This so called "indie" developer is funded by massive corps, like Disney.
It made me lol |

No it's not. You have reading comprehension of a 6 year old. The only "relation" Aventurine could have with Disney etc. is that the Greek publisher of DF, AudioVisual, is normally publishing DVDs in Greece... obviously that includes Disney DVDs. Mind you, even AudioVisual has apparenlty withdrawn from publishing DF... |

Your use of bland insults makes you, wumptooper have the imagination of a dull rock.
Also, it seems it is you that cant comprehend. AudioVisual isnt Aventurine's Publisher. What have they published of avent's that would lead you belive this? They are infact the parent company.
As to Having them withdraw from DF I havnt read that. Please post source.

Seriously, post your sources here first before making such ridiculous claims. I think Mr. Disney would turn in his grave before letting Disney corp. spending one dime on this game lol. They had a total of 10 million euros funding. From who and how. Doesn't matter. But it sertainly wasn't Disney haha. |

No they aren't. Seriously, what are you smoking?
You don't post any sources and and claim ridiculous things that stem from some single words you saw on Google but didn't bother to read the whole article. As for the withdrawal - the simple fact is that AV was supposed to release DF simultaneously in 50 countries on January 22nd, and instead DF has been released a month later without any mention of AV. |

Seriously, Are you that stupid or what?? Audiovisual is a DVD distributor in Greece. Get it? Or do you want me to magnify the word distributor a little more for you? |

My guess is that AV realized they would most likely lose money - at least short term - on that partnership and told Aventurine thanks but no thanks. AV was going to be a full publisher, not just distributor. They were going to pass a royalty on to Aventurine. But if their financial analysis revealed a probable lack of short term profit, that might have spooked them enough to walk away. Especially in this economy. I'm not an economist, this is just pointless conjecture. |

On that I agree. 10 million euros (roughly 14-15 million dollars) is a lot on Game development if only 6 to 32 people have been working on the game. Games like WoW and WAR and AoC... they have spend average 40 to 60 million dollars on those, but had development teams of 200-300 people. So with such a small team (they have had a 5-6 man team for most of the time) then 10 million euros spend is a lot. |

It isnt an indie game because it costs AAA price, both in initial purchase and monthly fee.
They charge the same as Funcom, Blizzrd, SOE etc, so the customer support should be judged at those levels. Period. |

The fact that it's a very small team with 30 people, has a small budget with no marketing and is showing a lack of professionalism makes it indie enough.

UO, EQ, AC, DAOC, all were created with <5 million $ budgets. Also, these guys are charging AAA prices. They're NOT indies, period. |

I disagree on that, many indie companies make up for the lack of funds with an extraordinary talent and professionalism. In the case of Aventurine, they did that with the 3d engine (for what I have seen in videos). But not with the rest of the game. |

Of course, what I said doesn't imply that "ALL" of the indie companies are unprofessional. And I am not really talking about the in game either, just look at how they are handling the whole thing. Anyway, all of this isn't really a problem for me. What I am looking forward to is playing a great game, if it takes some time to get there in the short term I am ready to wait.

It's a pity they didn't keep the same level of quality and self-demanding. I guess in 8 years lots of things happened, including long periods of 0 productivity, and maybe the good professionals left along the way. |
