the nature of the game will bring the worst people there, and create pure epeen flames like none other. What do you expect out of it honestly? it has been years before a sandbox pvp game has come out there are tons of greifing and pvp guilds just waiting to get in. ------------------------------------------------- EKSA |

Heh yeah, after reviewing his post history I realized they were mostly one line replies, and all in the Darkfall forums. This guy basically joined last week to bash Darkfall and has been doing so ever since. |

Never really understood how is it possible to get so pumped about a computer game, that you'd start acting like that. Or is it just the fact that nowadays it's so easy to use computer and internet, that even completely ignorant people can come here. And how in the hell every gaming site is now talking more about the gamers than the games itself. I want my good old mmorpg.com back. :/

For games that have great PVE contents, and highly soloable, the quality of the community might not be a big issue. After all, you can ignore the jerks and play your own game. At least you can pull your own mobs, talk to that NPC or mine the ore. For DF or teaming intensive games, the community is everything. I have always suspect that games like DF will attract jerks and griefers from every corner of the internet world. People I will never want to see ingame or in real life, people whose only intention is to ruin the day of other people. It is no surprise that quality of community will loom large on discussion issues related to DF. One thing I do feel with you, the quality of the gaming community in the past is really fabulous. Gone were the days I can explore SWG looking for that oddly place player house, checking for the latest batch of weapon he is choosing. Gone were the days I can meet ppl, wave, chat and move on, as if it is really a stroll on the neighorhood. If I want drama queens there is enough in RL to load my nerves. |

Yeah PVE elistist are sometimes just as annoying. Luckily in quite a lot of the better designed PVE games you can ignore them. In GW, you can zone out of a town and they are all gone. In WoW there are so many things to do, you can generally get away from them (remember to turn off general and trade chats). Zone into an instance in most games will fix it. But you cannot do that in a PVP game, and least so in a PVP game in which all you can do is find someone to play with or against. |
