Quit whining people. Discuss things rationally, argue them ignorantly, ignore people who say things you don't agree with if you must, but take care of these things at the point of origin, don't drag them out and start new threads about them. If there is a thread talking about Darkfall's combat and somebody says that 'Darkfail SUXX cuz it's all running in circles and randomly clicking the mouse!' then debate that issue there don't start a new thread going 'You won't believe what this Troll said!'. For the love of all that's holy start realizing that flame wars are a two way street and if you post a thread like this one you are just as bad as any troll.

But what I said still stands, the more they try to "fight back" against REAL trolls, the worse their troll problem will get.  Many of the worst trolls almost always use horrible grammar and spelling, along with leet speak thrown in (but their amateurs, usually from SA or "ebaums") while the most successful trolls go almost unnoticed.  But proper trolling seems to be a lost artform as it seems every 12yr old that visited 4chan think they can troll, and/or are actually funny.  A talanted troll is, sometimes, a beautiful thing to watch..  But usually, they're so good you don't know that you've been trolled until after you smashed your monitor in a fit of nerdrage.

the blame should be lamed squarely and completely on the darkfall fanbois that have haunted every forum online (that they could find) with darkfall this and darkfall that for about the past year.

a LOT of negative posting people on this forum are a direct result of the idiocy of posting how great darkfall is on other forums, where people really didn't care about darkfall one way or the other.

All the fighting has to be taken with a laugh, no matter what side you are fighting on, it's not really doing any harm to the game. It demonstrates that people won't change their opinion based on what trolls say, though I do believe that some of the most ardent fans drive people away.

No offense taken, a college education and I still can't spell worth a spit..  But it's true, I'm not anti troll.. I've been known to go to young earth creationist websites and spam them with evolution logic.. It's a sick pleasure, but fundies, be it christian or darkfall fanboys, do supply some facepalming replies.  I find the whole "troll vs. fanboy" fight hillarious, myself, especially seeing as I've given tips on how to control the troll problem (I feel sorry for some of the more "honest" fans) but that advice has been completely ignored by most for more of a "fire vs fire" approach.. which we've all seen works so great... /sarcasm

Haha... You haven't ever heard of Trancechat or The Way International have you? I used to troll their forums all the time. Part of me feels bad sometimes because a lot of the people on these forums are just kids and I know they take this stuff a lot more seriously than I do, but I also go out of my way to say something nice to people if I offend them too badly. If I ever actually tried to get some of the fans or trolls on these boards to change their opinions based on logic I'd end up tearing my hair out in frustration. LOL Luckily I don't care enough to allow myself to be drawn into anything that serious.

The Way International, been there, hehe.. It's true most are very uneducated young kids, but I usually prowl for evolution Vs ID fights already underway.  Biology and science has been a pet project of mine for a while, and very rarely does it ever turn into a logical debate, but many of those uneducated "I'm not a monkey lolz" arguments piss me off to no end.  Plus, I had a few moronic relatives that are fundies try to campaign for ID in my community.. Lets just say they don't show up for thanksgiving anymore.  It's sad I usually try to use logical arguments with notations on my points, but I usually end up getting flamed once I've exhausted their pre-planned arguments, then banned.  But I have a whole set of bookmarks, and they usually don't IP ban.

Hmm, spoken like someone who was not there for UO's release, which was very, very rocky. Lag up the wazoo. Virtually unplayable in the first couple weeks. In fact, PC Gamer trashed it with a 60% conditional review (allowing that it would likely improve if they could fix the lag and balance issues).

Yeah, my family's all fundamentalist so I have to hold my tongue at family gatherings. They're good people, just blinded by their need to have some 'purpose' in being. sorry, if this game was super duper great, then why so many posts from the fanboys?  repeatedly and over and over again?  that one dude kept posting until we pointed out that if he was so in love with the game, he'd be playing the game instead of doing damage control.

just take wow's horrid release -- hyjal was pretty rough for a couple/three/six months and yet that first day (and week) no one stopped playing wow long enough to go post anything about wow -- cuz we were having fun.

but darkfall is so great and fun that this entire first week (so far) the fanbois do nothing BUT post.  some of them stop "poasting" once we point this out... but some are determined to do damage control... which is really weird, since sales are stopped on darkfall.

That definitely pushed me over the edge. I was contemplating getting the game a few months down the line, if it was still around and provided they fixed it, but with douche bags like that running it, I would never.
