Cryptic Studios continues their look into the future of the Star Trek Universe as the build up to 2409, the year that Star Trek Online will begin. Today they look at the events of 2385 and careers of several Enterprise E crew members.

Starfleet Command announces it has completed its re-evaluation of all of its post-Dominion War assets and resources and that it will be refocusing some ships that have been assigned to defense and diplomacy to exploration and scientific discovery.

Among the ships that will be assigned to new duties is the U.S.S. Enterprise-E. “The flagship of Starfleet is not a warship,” says Commander Marie Durant, a spokesperson for Starfleet Command. “The Enterprise and her crew are the pinnacle of Federation achievement. We need them out on the edge of explored space, making new contacts and reaching out in friendship to races across the Galaxy.”

Sounds pretty good!  I like how they practically retcon the stupid thing they did with Data in the last Star Trek movie, lol.

It is my second language as well, so I do not know what exactly "retcon" means, but the definition/meaning, it means something of negating the past changes, making the past event or change unimportant and useless anymore, to the point that we can delete it from historical records as if it never existed.

I really liked this installment. Really, really liked.  The tie-ins to Generations and the connection to Grilka (Been working my way through the DS9 DVDs and just this episode a couple discs ago). I wonder if Quark is going to have an appearance?

You've pretty much got it. Retcon is short for "retroactive continuity" - basically making things that happened in the past work out to how writers want them to be in the future. Check out the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retroactive_continuity.

The less you expect, the more you'll be surprised. Hopefully, pleasantly so.
