that episode of the simpsons where homer gets fired from the power plant and joins the naval reserve. After another wacky adventure, Homer ends up saving his submarine from sinking by using bart's earring to plug a hole in the ship. Homer crawls out of the hatch after the emerges and finds himself complete surrounded by Battleships of other nations, and Homer's excuse that gets him off the hook for causing all that trouble was something along the lines of "its my first day". It ends with everyone laughing it off and sailing off ending happily. Adventurine reminds me of the penguins that jumps off their battleship and swims off.

Adventurine reminds me of Limitless Horizons.  No, were they this bad?  I dunno, that's a tough one.
