What do they mean they'll make an attempt to re-process SOME of the failed pre-orders on Friday? They're only going to re-process a limited amounts? That's straight bull shit. Everyone that got an email assumed that their order went through. Why would they not process it right after you filled out your information?

I edited my account information with a new credit card. If this doesn't work tomorrow after its been re-processed, I'm done.

Just got the same email... Did you edit your card details before or after receiving it?

(just wondering as I removed and reentered my card details just to make sure about an hour ago before receiving this email and just wanted to check it wasn't related to the new details)

It was after I entered my new information. I don't think it has to do with that though. I'm sure its the old information.

I want to know what they mean by SOME. It should say all.

If the credit card I put it doesn't go through, there's something really wrong and I'll try again in a couple of weeks.

I think it is what Fyerwall mentioned in another thread (I am going to try and relate it here and if I mess up, maybe Fyerwall can correct me.)

Most credit cards companies, due to fraud protection (especially larger ones), don't allow odd, multiple charges within a certain time period of one another (like 24 hours). So your CC company gets a charge from Greece (what the hell they are thinking) for a small amount and then within 24 hours, they see another attempt at a charge (this time for a lot more). They think someone has stolen your info and block anymore online charges from that card.

The error and problem is on AV's part. They did not understand this and failed miserably. This is why they are going to try it Friday, to give it a large window of time to hopefully get it cleared up.

The issue is that they still are blaming their players when it is them that screwed up and this is totally unacceptable. They are complete incompetent morons who have no idea how to do a billing system or handle administrative stuff. My advice to everyone who is charged is to keep an eye out for double charges and any other odd occurances on your CC account until they get this straightened out. You know, incompetence is one thing but arrogance to blame your customer is another.

Some of them probably are not worth reprocessing.  If it was rejected due to lack of funds in the account then it might be worthwhile them doing it again as people may have put more money in their account.  It the card was out of date or the details were wrong ect then there is no point them having a second attempt, it's still not going to work.

They are probably given an error code showing why the transaction was refused by the clearing house.

I just got this same mail a little bit ago. They must not accept Visa debit cards. It's rediculous they can't tell you why it failed. And of coarse this information is given to us when banks have closed down for the day. Fanfuckingtastic. Looks like I'll be waiting until they open up pay-pal billing.

Just got off the phone to Barclaycard (gota love 24hr banking)  .. explained what had happend and they assured me everything was ok with the card and account and absolutely no transactions have been put forward or declined since the initial charge for the pre-order for €2.52 (+£0.06p commision charge)

Seems Aven are either typing in the details incorrectly or just buying time so they can create more space for the rest of the pre-orders by saying the failed when is hasn't really been tried.

oh well .. will see what tomorrow brings.

Hmmm maybe they just refuse it and don't tell them anything then, it could leave the door open for fraud if they start giving them information on what went wrong.

I got the exact same e-mail. Originally I double checked my DC information and then sent a message to support asking for some sort of confirmation. I shortly afterwards went back in and edited my information to use my CC instead. I then got the email awhile later. There is no way in hell it's connected to the credit card because I just used it (successfully) to buy something and double checked all of the info. Chances are the emails being sent out by support are in regards to the old information. They're probably not looking up your newly entered information and trying to run in. They're probably going into a profile of sorts for you where it says, "This person's card was rejected for this reason." And then turning around and telling you that.

In conclusion, the new information you've put it is probably fine. Always double check it to be sure, but they probably sent the email about the original info you entered.

It's a canned automated response.

My cardholder shows only the 2 pre-order charges as attempted .... they NEVER attempted the final charge.

They basically aren't going to provide you even the moderate amount of customer service required to actually look up your account and figure out what's wrong.

It means if they fail at reprocessing your info or don't bother and need something else to blame it on, they'll just say that they "lacked the resources or capacity to process your pre-order" and try and make you do a regular order with all the other zerglings.

I have been reading your supposed "replies" to people on here for quite awhile and I have come to one conclusion.

You really should save the money for the game and instead go buy yourself a clue. You really don't have one do you? I will assume that it is due to your age and that you will learn as you mature, if not then OMG you are in deep kimchi.

I edited my account information with a new credit card. If this doesn't work tomorrow after its been re-processed, I'm done.

With all this problem and bugs in their system you are still giving them another CC info?. Dont you think is safer for you to cancel this and wait to see how it develops?. A lot of people have been charged and they cant even login in game, and you still want them to charge you?. Dont be a fool, delete your CC info, or undo the preorder now that you are still in time. If all ends good you can buy the game again in a few days, but you can avoid a lot of potential problems and headaches.

OP Termsy,

Were you by any chance one of those people who got lucky pre ordering the game  on thursday or friday?

Maybe that's where the problem is. Those who used the leaked info from the idiot  "Leeeeeeeeeeroy Jenkins" beta tester are probably the ones that are getting screwed,.

Those who waited to create a game account and pre ordered the game during the "official open for public" day are probably in the game now..

If not, then I'd wager a high percentage of people who pre ordered with a new game account the other day are in the game now compared to those who used the leaked info for the beta testers.. hmmmm I wonder if this is really what the problem is...

I got in shortly after it was announced on the beta forums, since I was a tester. I don't see why he'd be screwing us, too.

Yeah. I did it Thursday.

As a side note, I just called capital one (my credit card company). I told them to authorize any payments to either Aventurine or Darkfall Online tomorrow for either 40euro or 2.52euro. They said it might have been denied if I didn't call in to leave a note, so I suggest everyone else does the same.

Thats all you really can do atm.

As I said in another post most credit card companies see the second charge as an unauthorized charge, flag it and decline it. The problem is on Aventurines end. Instead of placing a reserve on the full purchase amount (game cost + the 2.52 PO fee) they made 1 authorized charge for 2.52 and then after 24 hours made a second charge for the remainder. This sets off flags in the credit companies system causing in most cases an automatic denial.

If they just held the full price (game+PO fee) for 24 hours it would have let the purchase go through as well as allowing the customer to cancel their PO. If the customer canceled the PO, Aventurine could then charge the 2.52 as a service fee.

Fact is Aventurine had no clue what they were doing, setup some hack n' quack billing system and have now pretty much screwed a few hundred if not thousands of customers who paid the initial fee.

So all you really can do is call your company, see what the issue was and if possible have them allow the charges for the second part of the purchase. Then it would be upto Aventurine to reprocess the order and you would most likely be in game in a few hours to a day at most.

If your card company cant authorize the second part of the charge, ask them to reverse the charge for the PO fee. It can be done and would result in Aventurine having to pay that fee as well as a minor fine (which just might make them fix the issue once and for all)

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

I just wanted to post up about my preorder status as well. I preordered last Friday recieved the email that pre-order went through.

I was never charged the initial fee or the final fee, I never got another email. I logged in 2 days ago to the account page and verified all my info. Today I recieve the email about my transaction not going through,

My credit card is also capital one so I called them up and the fraud department said they did not see any hits whatsoever from anyone recently. Capital one said they made a note on the account for up to 65$ to pass if anyone charges me tommorrow morning, so we will see in the AM if I will get my preorder. There is nothing else I can do on my end

Yeah, it sounds like Aventurine has been a little off on their billing.

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

I also rang my credit card company and there have been no attempts at charged from Aventurine or Darkfallonline.com. So they are not doing something right since my credit card details were definately correct.

As long as the actual cc number is right then the company will get an attempt on the card, if you have some part of your address or the expiry date wrong then the cc company will reject it. But it would still be recorded as an attempt. So it's pretty obvious there is something messed up with their accounts, maybe they can't fix it so the easiest way for them is to tell us it's a problem at our end.

I'd like to know if anyone did get a successful charge on their credit card this evening. They said a small percentage got through, or is that just to throw us off the scent.
