Exactly same problem here - all video drivers up to date and all that... create character and then client crashes as it tries to join the game server.

We somehow need to make the devs aware of our problem :(

Still no luck here tried installing on xp instead of vista64 and i have the same problem there. Running out of things to try.

I'm having the same problem, I try to create a character and I get error 14001 and get sent back to the NDA screen...

Did you guys download the actual client provided by Aventurine or the leaked one by beta people?

I have the same problem, got in to the game played some time until game crashed. Now when i start it again and login when it starts to load it crashes every time.

I downloaded from the official tracker and given it to around 7 other people and they are all playing fine :(

How do I check which version I have installed?

I guess all we can do is keep sending them error logs and hopefully they fix it.

It was the official version that i installed, Im reinstalling at the moment but not holding my breath.

Guys I finally got into the game but I had to delete the character I had made - it was a human - I had already tried making another human with same problems happening however I tried one more time and chose a different race and it worked no problem...

Wierd.. but if any of you have human characters, try remaking and trying another race - worked for me!

Did you even read the posts? We cant even see the character creation screen how can we delete our "human" characters...

I did but misunderstood where the problem lay so sorry about that - please dont be cheeky as I was genuinely trying to help - even if i wasnt right.

just out of curiousity...why would you build a mmorpg engine around Java when Java can not handle the amount of information needed like C#/C++ ?

That actually works for me, sorry if I misread the post. At any rate, my clan is human, wtf!

but th game is supposed to be rock solid and stable.....

you only have a few preorder people playing...what do you think the server is going to be like come public lunch? Cause from what i hear, it ain't going to be pretty. I am glad i didn't preorder, though i was tempted on that 11th hour.

this isnt about the server being overpopulated or something theres some sort of a bug or something and we cant make characters therefore cant enter the game moreso i think JVM doesnt even start thats why the game cant launch itself.

I have the same problem, i can go to char creation though.. and yeah im Human, i want to be human though!

Shouldn't you really be posting this on the official Darkfall technical forums.   I know in other games I've played, I usually get a very fast response on how to fix a problem like this by one of the game's tech support people.. expecially when you can post the actual error message like you did.

Right now some Humans are bugged so you will have to recreate a different race to play it, it did work for me.

yeah..sorry, that is why I used /sarcasm.  I know the forums are down, and even if they were up, you would never get tech support on them anyway.

But look at the bright side.   Tasos gave you and extra free 3 days to not be able to create a character.

He can take away all my playtime i can pay him for extra month who cares i want to enter for the 1st day :S
