It's still by far the most interesting mmo on the market.. even though the launch was crap.

But just because the launch was crap, doesn't make the game any less exciting.

I'll be playing... and yes I know the launch was shit!...

Launch was shit and more than 50% of the promised content isn't even there, twitch combat with 1 button mash isn't content.. you can get that for free

I played beta for a month.

I love the game.

Attended macroing I have no problem with. Unatteneded macroing doens't really bother me, I hunt them and kill them and take all there mats.

I do not agree with cheating.

In the month I played I only saw one person speed hacking, the server went down right after our fight and that person was banned, complained about it on the forum, a new patch was issued within a coupel hours and the speed hacking problem was solved.

I saw very little cheating. If I had seen any, yes it would bother me.

I guess the influx of posters is due to the official forums being shut down due to "overload".

The servers have been up for at least 15 minutes now. *Knocks on desk*

It's the same group of trolls that hang around the forums of every new release and post bs about the game failing and being doomed before it has even started. I mean come on really, it's irritating that you can't play on the day they advertise as release day but it's no reflection on the game itself. Since most of the content in the game is player created, we won't really see how much depth there is until a few months have passed and the world has had time to grow.

The only real gripe I have with AV is the level of communication they offered while people were waiting to preorder etc... If they kept the community updated on a regular basis and gave times for when they would be up or they would post a delay then people could have gotten on with their lives. There was a lot of people that spent hours refreshing website etc. Constant feedback from the devs does a lot to reassure mmo players. Yes of course they were busy as hell but making a few forum posts doesn't take long..

What does it tell you about our lives? My game of choice has an extra hours maintenance today. Announced well in advance no big deal. Don't fancy either of the betas I am in (despite them being more fulfilling than DF). Nice being retired I guess I can kick back here watch a bit of TV spot of light lunch and then off for a wine tasting later (Burgundies since you ask). Not sure how you can tell all that from my view of DF more power to your psychc abilities! 

Maybe I am just too public spirited, but I really recommend people try this before they buy. There are some pretty fundemental flaws (imho). A shame but there it is. The game is hollow and meaningless (despite lots of 'skills' and 'features') There are no consequences there are no chocies its a left click over and over fest for absolutely everything you do in the game. Luckily most of this can be done by macro while you play something else so raising skills and gathering your resources for 22/7 for an hour or twos dull meaningless combat before its back to macroing. Dull does not begin to describe this game as it stands now.
