Yep, was the inner Mahirim lands where I started. the middle choice. Hey every other mmo I've ever played had mobs everywhere out of the towns. And I've played UO, AC1, AC2, EQ, EQ2, WoW, DAoC, Horizons, SWG, Irth, Guild Wars, Eve, Lineage, Lineage 2, Perfect World, Warhammer, AoC, CoH, D&L, Mourning, Vanguard, FF 11, Saga of Ryzom, and probably 20 more. But I'm a "nub" cuz I think I might see some kinda life out of the town. Yeh DF is just different cuz it's better then all those other games. it's being a huge ass barren, empty lifeless world is GREAT! What the fuck ever. Quite frankley, I might have given this game another shot. But if the only life that I'll find in this world is the kindof community that has responded here... you people should be ashamed of mocking the WoW community. I never gave a "final review", I clearly stated I was simply judging it based on 20 minutes of seeing nothing. |

Hmm lol you assumed it was in irony? You dont come here often do you? Try the official DF forums, you will be in for a bigger shock, this tool, likely was cultivated in that pile of goatshit, and came here to share his good manners. |

DF has one of the worst communities in the history of gaming. You just need to read the Fanboys' posts for a few minutes to realise this. You can tell them apart by their overuse of phrases such as: "Carebear", "Go back to WoW" and "DF isn't for you". |

O'really? There are huge parts of the world that appear to be completely unpoplultaed. Currently wanderes are out 'you fing noob'. In beta 1 in 3 of each races starting areas where completely unpopulated, probabbly still are. Which was a bitch if you started there. One of the things that make the game feel empty lifeless charmless and ultimately soulless. A lot like D&L was.

The game is designed to be light on the monsters. They are an important resource to be fought over. They aren't everywhere like people are used to in other games. |

Just run to any of the other starting town in the Mahirim area... you will find plenty of spawns. _______________________________________________ The noob formally not known as not being the formally not unkown known APEist; The Stone Cold Killer of Tarq. |

An empty world worries me aswell. Don't worry about these blindies trying to troll, they will be the first (and louder) ones complaining here when the release gets decent and there is 100 guys camping each spawn of six goblins or moving to something different is not possible without "grinding" skills first at those goblins.

Well, to be completely honest, Darkfall ISN'T for most mmo gamers. I wouldn't really classify it as an insult. _______________________________________________ The noob formally not known as not being the formally not unkown known APEist; The Stone Cold Killer of Tarq. |

Honestly, besides fixing the starter towns with bugged spawns, I hope the DON'T add more world spawns... unless they are non-agroing wildlife, such as deer and such. Or maybe low-agro things such as bobcats, etc. The entire world is a battle ground, remember, and accidentally agroing a mob (or mobs) while in the heat of a pvp battle was INCREDIBLY annoying. I am all for them populating/activating all their dungeon and fortress location spawns, however. _______________________________________________ The noob formally not known as not being the formally not unkown known APEist; The Stone Cold Killer of Tarq. |

I've never played an MMO that grabbed me in the first 20minutes. I've seen some cool tutorials, but those don't really count since they're not in-game. I thought the game was pretty good, but not great until a few days later when I started getting better and doing more things. As for finding the starting monsters, just talk to the first NPC you see (he should be right next to where you spawned) and he'll mark them on the map for you. I have a question: |

Hate to flame but this "launch" seems to have some horrible simularities to a little game called DnL...... /shivers My opinion matters to everyone... |

Yes, I agree with you to some extent. But there is a happy middle ground between a pure PvE mob population/density and a barren world. A few roaming spawns would solve one of the biggest issues for me right now: World spontaneous combat looks like The Benny Hill Online. With the risk of getting mob agro, maybe people would stop sprinting in random direccions as long as their stamina let's them do so or the guys behind arrow them down after 1-2 minutes chase. |

Yeah cos its totally realistic for a band of gobbos to permanently set up camp right outside the front gates of a hostile city Oh my gosh! Those gobbos are actually hiding from you?! The swine! How dare they try and survive and hide away from the murdering players out to hunt them. Oh why cant all the mobs be dumb and stupid like in all the previous braindead mmos with zero AI. Its not fair! It should be piss easy like you're used to right? They should all be standing around in the wilderness waiting to be farmed by the players. This is outrageous! Now you're gonna have to struggle against all the mental conditioning you have been subjected to over the past 10 years |

BTW you wokred out your totals wrong for your score
for teh overall you should have added the total together then divided by the categories you were marking on
so 11 in total over 3 categories makes 3/10 not 2/10
just saying
and as a Beta Tester I can clearly confirm mobs are there to be found, you jsut gotta search, adn a little further than starter town, but beyond Gobs and occasional 'low level' mobs (trolls/Kobolds/Skelleis etc) you will need help or face a lot of running away like a little girl cos you might die with your loot :) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/ab/Norsefire-logo.png |

Run to another starter town (you wll get a taste of how empty the world is) or better just re-roll and select another start spot. To repeat 1 in 3 starter towns are completely screwed. Dosen't create a good first experience. |

The thing is, often times you need to run while your fighting NOT because you mean to flee, but because you sense other players around you. For instance, I would often PK in the human lands (as a mahirim), and when I engaged 1 or 2 or 3 players on my own, sometimes I would notice a glimmer or a noise in the distance. Now, I don't want any more humans to just come traipsing around discover my fight... I've already got all I can handle. So, often times I will flee, just to move the fight to a more discreet or hidden location.
BTW, I know the mahirim, dwarf, ork, and the humans lands well. I've also explored Yssam. The only area I would describe as desolate was Yssam. I could easily find spawns in the mahirim, dwarf, ork, and human lands. The only thing that annoyed me was most dungeons/fortresses being unpopulated/unactivated. _______________________________________________ The noob formally not known as not being the formally not unkown known APEist; The Stone Cold Killer of Tarq. |

The area between the starter cities and the capital is barren of wildlife and any mobs besides goblins, just as it should be. They are the most civilized locations on the map. Run to another races territory or towards the center of the map and you are bound to happen upon 4-5+ spawns of various creatures. For instance, running from the mahirim to the dwarven lands for the first time, I ran into Revenants, Centaurs, Oathbounds, somethingmoon Gaurdians, Mountain Trolls, and Dire Zombies. Running from the Dwarven to the Ork lands, I happened upon the Svartensomething (evil npc dwarves), Skeleton warriors, Black Knights, Servants of Maulat, Sarlids, Hivekin, Swamp Hags, and Fire Sprites. I could go on. I know of MANY spawns in DFO. As many as other MMOs? Hardly. Still, there are plenty. I will admit that it would be nice to add some non or low agro creatures to the game, and the devs definitely need to activate all the dungeons.

Not playing and not a huge fan either but OP you would have known this if you read a bit about the game before you bought it. Ofcourse there wasn't much action since the launch was rather "terrible". So I'd advise you to wait it out till more people are on the server :)

This is why Darkfall will, at best, struggle....a community containing the worst kind of leet kiddies spewing their impotent angst into a game because if they did it in real life somebody would probably punch them out. |
