No that's the RL game where you eat a big fish and chip supper, your GF eats a some spicy Pappaya salad and the first one to leave the room is PWNED!

Seriously I agree with you, though I've become worried reading about the instanced scenarios they plan on adding to the game. Though I guess we'll have to see how that pans out.

I am just hoping that it takes after EVE in...some respect (Even if only 10%). The combat looks incredibly fun. Light Fighter anyone? :D

I don't really like instancing in games personally I like a totally open world where people fight or whatever to do quests and things like that. I could see some instances being done for story style missions but general missions they should be done in open universe where other players can ruin your day :)

We will find this out shortly in the beta.

I was hyped for a long time when first news of JGE got out.. But now, Im 98% sure that I wont be playing this game for more then 2 weeks. And I have played the original for 4 years.

This will be a carebearfest. It will be a mix of POTBS, WOW, Counterstrike in space and some spaceships. They are making the same mistakes that  WAR, AOC, PoTBs, SWG and countless others made.

instance instance instance, "no losers ingame, just last winners!"

I have to agree a little bit here on this. I know playing in the beta (if I get in) will make or break it for my\e for JGE. If there is too much instancing that will turn me off. That's what made me mad about AoC. I played Lineage 2 for a few years and want to see another game like that in space where the world is open and you can do what you want to whom you want and there is penalities for dying (ie exp loss and gear drops) that needs to be in JGE personally for it to be very fun. Since it is a twitch style and pvp will be fast and quick there should be some reward and penality system that fits the game.

No. This is exactly what they need to do and where the market is going. WAR & AOC failed because of lack of good content at higher level. Look at LOTRO. It is moderately successful and it is exactly WOW's model. Ditto for Guild Wars.

Actually WoW and LotRO were severely lacking in end-game content when they launched, LotRO more so than WoW. The content there was (in WoW at least) was largely untested and riddled with bugs making it unplayable. WAR's end-game problems aren't with PvE, but with PvP - there's a lot of issues surrounding the end-game PvP content, which is the main focus of the game. WAR is also bigger than LOTRO currently in terms of players.

Can i have some of what your smoking? Guild Wars is an exact clone of WoW? EvE is as successful as LOTRO and its as far as possible from WoW. There is a lot interest in Darkfall and its the opposite of WoW.

But I hope this isn't where the market is headed because any game trying to be WoW will fail. We have WoW why on earth do people think want another?

WAR hasnt failed yet its just never going to have as big a subscriber base as it could because its end game content was pretty messed up and they made some stupid design decisions like instances and mandatory pve dungeon runs for pvp gear. Rather than focus on what would have made them different like RvR they were trying too hard to capture some of WoW's casual market and failed imo.

I very much doubt making JG:E like WoW will make it a massive success. The fans of space sims want something more than an arcade mmo.

Because no one has done a WOW with space ship yet.

I would hope that NetDevil wouldn't take the game in any direction like WoW. I just want a action shooter with great faction based combat elements were it's race against race.  Space sim fans are more hardcore personally in the sense they have played many space sim games and expect certain things for that space related game to have and if it doesn't have it the game will not have a huge following. But looks like NetDevil takes feedback into consideration and impliments a lot of it. Bring on the Beta....
