There are plenty of good reviews out there, simply look for this: If the dude that writes the review seems like he has only played the game for 1 day, then thats not a good review.
Not if u compare it to the reviews of the ppl who actually played the game for several weeks during beta. And the fact that those reviews are almost entirely postive should tell u something.

out of all the reviews out there Paragus1 wins the prize, his review even was mentioned on the front page of mmorpg that speaks for itself. I read it myself and he does show he doesnt hold any bearings to either side . read it ! Watching Fanbois drop their soap in a prison full of desperate men. |

This was the most silly thing I have seen on this forum !! I have always thought you made somewhat intelligent remarks about Darkfall, even thou I do not agree with you at times, you still write in a nice way.. But this !! Tell me something Darkstar, as Darkfall is skillbased and you can actually do most of what Darkfall has to offer in a week or less, you can atleast get a feel for most ingridients in that time, and you will also be able to try out all races and do a rather large amount of exploring of the land.. You may even be able to buy a horse in that time.. Things I guess you do not have the time to test in a week is boats and housing.. As has been stated so many times before, Darkfall is not like other MMORPGS, in those other MMORPG's you need ALOT of time to test most of what it has to offer..For example you will not have a horse until lvl 35 in LOTRO. But to be honest you should also be able to give a rather fair review of this game in a smaller time frame. You simply has to face it, Darkfall may be a good game for you, but in general the masses will not like it.. I gave this game a 5/10 because that is how I feel it's worth. I actually applause Aventurine for making such a bold move to try to release a game like this in these times, and for that I wich them all my luck. I have been waiting for a game like Ultima Online for a long long time now, so I was so glad when I finally got the chance to try it, but it didn't take me long until I got a sour feeling about Darkfall, as I noticed many things was not in the least the way i pictured them to be.. I also beta tested a game that was called Wish, It was a bold project by developers much like Aventurine that wanted to create a skillbased game in the spirit of UO, but they canceled the game just before the final beta. And to be honest I personally recall Wish as a game that was much more to my liking than Darkfall, It was closer to the remake of Ultima. http://www.lockergnome.com/game/2005/01/10/mmorpg-wish-canceled/ Ohh well.. |
