No, it doesn't. Now people are left to speculate which is what is happening now.

There was no post like previous updates, just a "Hey dude" to a single poster with a "It's out...for now" post.

I want to know why they felt the need to take it out? And it is testlive, so, if they are testing raids, or whatever...guess what...people can switch to DX9. That is the major point here. Anyone can switch to DX9, and NOT run DX10. No one was forced to run that client...

It is fishy, suspicious, and I want to know what the motives were.

Thanks

I think you will have better luck getting answers on the TL forum

Then ask the question on testlive rather then here :)

Chances are you will get a better answer there, they could be doing some major modifications to the dx10 client and wanted to take it off testlive to implement the new build once finished, but anyone posting here unless they work for funcom can't really say for sure.

I did NOT ask it here either. And someone else has already asked on the TL forum. Their answer? "We removed it".

Why was it not in their patch notes? WHAT was the reason as well...why not say?

The point of this thread is if anyone else believes that DX10 may be out. It sure does seem mysterious after the presentations dropped the DX10 stuff for the financial reports, when it was on the previous reports, that it all of sudden disappears from TL.

Looks like either another long wait for the next patch or maybe it is just done, as development cannot happen anymore due to funds being so low.

I will be watching is all I can say.

Maybe they will reply to your thread there. I think it is really just down for preperations for the next TL update. Makes more sense then anything financial. We've seen it before with other things on there.

Or maybe they will just delete the thread for no reason, and no notice of removal...like they just did.

How odd.

Why would a perfectly acceptable question get deleted? It was not trolling, it was not hateful...just a simple "Why was DX10 removed from this build, it was not in the patch notes..."

Now THAT deserves speculation.

Funcom also give there co-worker a harsh treatment, where they push them directly to work overtime .Its just bad management. Funcom has destroyed many both psychically and socially.

DX10 is back on test. It was removed only 1 or 2 days, no big deal.

Update 1.04.1 Notes
FIELD OF THE DEAD
* The quest "A Crawling Threat" can now be turned in properly.

CRADLE OF DECAY
* The Lord of Decay now resets correctly.
* The Lord of Decay will no longer run off during battle to find far-off minions to eat.

THUNDER RIVER
* Blood Fang should spawn at the correct location again.

THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE CELLAR
* Enough Seal Fragments should now drop from the Picts in the Slaughterhouse Cellar for players to handily finish this quest in one run.

BLACK RING CITADEL
* Seruah should now both reset and die properly.
* Seruah should now properly use her "Ripped from Within" ability.
* The spawn rate of Seruah's adds has been reduced.
* Seruah's adds no longer spawn after she has been killed.
* The Chatha encounter has been toned down slightly.

THE DRAGON CAVE
* Terrors of Tartaros should now correctly attack players.

GUILD CITIES
* It is now possible to use Guild City Traders after fighting with combat dummies.

TRADESKILLS
* Architect: Heavy Lintel now drops.

Added February 24th, 2009

If anything is assumed to be other than bullshit, theres something wrong with the perspective.

 QFT

Nothing has changed, and will never change. It took me 1 month back in July-August to figure that out. Some people need years before they realize the facts. Guess it has something with how naive some people are.

Yep it is back on test server, with a new God Ray intensity bar. Although setting to high will make you blind lol.

Working well for me.

I also took delivery of some new cards today came by courier this morning. Fan F***** Tastic.

55-80 FPS in Tortage maxed out everything possible.

Yay, the AoC correspondent can after 9 months of toading for Funcom play the noob area with 55-80 FPS. Justice is done.

Excellent news. I saw this yesterday, and I am glad they put it back.

They also were admonished for doing that, and apologized. They said further tests would be more precise with patch notes stating these changes.

Good for them.

Thanks Avery!

(PS: 55-80 with DX10 sounds about right. I am scared to go to Aquilonia though...lol)

Just want to comment on this "No test server" issue. They used the Beta server for testing in the beginning, I could still log on to the beta server 2 weeks after release, and people were actually playing there, it was a couple of builds ahead of the live version of the game too. I guess they later changed this server to the Test Live server.

Tortage is an intense graphical area am I right?

For the last 3 or 4 months I was thinking, WHY DID I BUY AOC, I didn't want to give up on something that has such wonderful literature behind it, the pre-order was allright. Warhammer Online, same story...box looks better though. I too have put some effort and money into buying a system and components for AoC, well not directly for AoC, but it was an inspiration to do so, the marketing team did a good job of advertising how revolutionary and new / exciting AoC was going to be *yawn* DX10 will definitly create a new level of immersion for MMORPGs and for AoC, dont know what else to say...

Oh look another person who knows nothing.

The game always has had a test server with a short break in name change just after launch. Been testing the game far longer than 9 months. But I can tell it is pointless in trying to explain what happens there.

Testlive servers were not there "just" after launch, but came in way too late for normal people with normal amount of patience like me to tolerate the incompetence of FC allowing to put totally broken patches (two in a week, in fact) onto live servers.

And what good are testlive servers if the company still releases totally broken patches? 1.0.3 & recent 1.0.4 scandals, anyone?

The testlive server has always been there, since beta.

When the game launched the beta server was still there for about 1 month (?) until it was renamed from "beta" to "test". It's the same server and has always been there.

Until it was renamed as "test" all of the beta players were still using it to test new content, even after launch.

Now, of course the question if the developers are listening to the test reports is another question... I think today they are doing a much better job at listening than they did 9 months ago.

Plus the switch to have the patches on the test server longer therefore reducing any potential issues upon release. It is working well, just wish it was a little faster and more compact process when possible.

Getting a little bit better results on test now with the DX10 client from it's 24 hr downtime, I'm not sure if there was any proper change so far though.

Just because you are unique does not mean you are special

Do you still need a separate 25 gig download to play on the test server?  That's the reason I never downloaded it when I played.  Other MMOs I played you download a small patch to turn the game client into the test one without hogging all that extra HDD space.

No, we are still stuck having two installs. And when you patch that install, it seems to re-download so much redundant data, that it takes twice as long as a regular patch...weird.

OK thanks.  All I can say is LOL wow.  What genius designed that?  I remember the random attempted 13 gig patches way back when.  I thought by now they would have gotten some technical things straightened out, but I can't say I'm surprised.

Me either...and you want to know the worst part? I played for hours last night, and so enjoyed myself, and this is what makes these issues even worse.

I think this game is truly awesome, but little issues make me just cringe at logging in.

Not two seperate downloads, there is the duplicator tool, but the HD space is still twice. Just that you aren't downloading again forever.

Picked myself up a couple 1TB HD's only $80 each month or so ago :)
