Sheesh, do you guys want them to take more people in than they can hold? I mean the trolling and hating keeps getting to ridiculously high levels with each new announcement. If Aventurine had taken more than they can handle, then servers become unstable and crash, and you guys will go whining about the Aventurine scam and the game doesn't even work. But, instead of doing that, they take orders to meet what they are capable of handling so now they are something totally different and bad, liars or whatever. Kyleran, a massive troll in the past, is at least posting something smart about this and at least has figured out why Aventurine is doing things a certain way. However, I sense some attempts in his posts to bash as well. The rest of you are just a buncha mindless chimps making grunts and screams at each other, to make yourselves feel good after you got owned in your predictions in the past. Everything this company does gets trolled to death by misinformation or flat out lies by haters and trolls. This company, who doesn't come close to the same level as Turbine in deceit, has done nothing to warrant any of this stupidity from the haters or trolls. You all expect them to run as smoothly as a $20 - $30 mil budget studio who has released several MMOs already and has proprietary software already built and ready to go. It's funny, Turbine gets the studio of the year award, yet have more fails in the MMO industry than any of the major developers. Yet, if you point to Turbine's flaws you are hammered hard, by many who come to DF and hammer Aventurine for their 'supposed' fail. Seriously, I'm about done with mmorpg.com. It's like watching Idiocracy if it had no funny parts. splat |

Sorry for offtopic but somehow I could not find the answer in other threads - what's the price of pre-order? |

And I'm quite sure people like you will still be defending Aventurine with more excuses and insults and will still be claiming you are finally done with MMORPG.com because its full of stupid idiot lying hater pre ordering trolls. |

Good call. Have to respect Aventurine for this. A greedier company would have just grabbed the over-capacity subs and then threw their hands up in the air on the 25th. If I recall correctly, this is what happened to Blizzard in the first week of WoW release. Waaaay too many people, queues that lasted 45-60 minutes to log in. Doubled the number of servers within a week. Otherwise you end up with a gross overestimation of servers, and have to merge within a couple of months. Eg. PotBS, etc, etc, etc. PotBS was absolutely comical in their estimation of subs. Aventurine may screw up a lot of things, but this was the right decision. |

Having to many servers was also a major contributor to Vanguard's flop out the gate as well. splat |

NEWSFLASH Thousands of online game enthusiasts were left out of pocket earlier today when it emerged that the much anticipated MMO game "Darkfall Online" was nothing more than an elaborate fraud. FBI investigators estimate as many as 40,000 pre-orders were placed in the days leading up to the games official "release", and hopeful subscribers have lost out to the tune of over $2m. Russian trade minister Igor t'Riptoff made a brief statement in an apparent attempt to divert blame from his own government, instead pointing the finger at rogue elements within the Ukrainian Navy. Darkfall Online had been in "development" for over 5 years, but it would seem that the huge following of fans it had acquired over that time, was nothing more than a cynical ploy to maximise their fraud. A spokesman for Visa reassured its customers that any money lost in the fraud would be refunded, however a spokesman for Paypal refused to comment.
*** how many are hoping this scenario isnt, but could, be true ***

They could make this: When u login u aggree that u will play only for 3-4 hours, after that u get dc from the server and u r not able to login again for 24h,so another player gets ur place.Problem solved. You can sell now 10 times the game that your server can hold and be the pioneer in mmo industry. Two birds with 1 rock |

Even WoW was designed for a market much smaller than WoW. Blizzard could not believe what happened, but acted accordingly, making it available for all that want to play it. Aventurine should do the same (and probably will in due time). But you are right in a way, Aventurine was targeting a really small niche market. And going by the numbers, It's most likely a big success for them. |

I agree, they are doing this right
from their January announcement forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php The pre-orders will get priority for early access to the game. The pre-orders will also get priority for the game launch if we have to go to a staged release. We’ll go to a staged release only in the case we have more demand than we can handle properly, and until we can upgrade our capacity. The pre-orders are necessary so that we can have some measure of the demand. |

I meant out of your post history total. I won't deny I said it would never release because I had legitimate reasons why. In the end it will be out but defiantly doesn't have all it's features they promised. The core gameplay is their blah blah blah. Nothing I'd spend my time on but that's just my opinion you have yours I have mine. You have my word that the community itself will destroy this game in time.

I doubt they were figuring on 15k and thats it.. seems hard to believe, 300k in forums bout only 5% of them want in at release.....lol.. oh maby the rest are wating for them to make it a complete game i dont know. |

I`m not very good with forums but i can`t find where i need to go to get on the list to play this game. I put my name down on beta list...is this all i need to do. I`m in England, is this available to me. I even downloaded the game and am at password screen.
I think i`ve just wasted my time? I do know there seems to be a high demand for this though and i would probably have to wait till 3years time to play like usual when in England. |
