I'm actually really f'ing impressed... I mocked this game for the last few years along with everyone else, but I take back everything now.

The graphics are actually pretty damn amazing with everything cranked up, not even LoTRO's DX10 shadows are this good. (Of course the water sucks as only DX9 water can, sadly)

The game play is pretty easy to get down, controls are pretty good once you get the hang of it.

Gear is so easy to come by, even with the griefing.

The company has bungled the ever living shit out of the release, you can't even try to deny that. But the game is self is pretty damn amazing and certainly worth the money if you're sick of the standard MMO clones and want something with a bit more grit to it. PvE will never be as dynamic as PvP.

what race did you play as? was the world pretty barren or did you see alot of mobs/players run around? how was the performance and what kind of specs did you have? if you are in the usa what was your ping and did it lag at all? just curious im trying to get some info on the game so i can see if its worth checking out or not

It's amazing how little these reviews tell us.

Well, seems like the trolls are still trying the game and taking their words back, while DFO pre-orders are sold out too.

We will see what this game can do :)

Human and elf

The world really isn't that barren. Especially when there's other players around. The respawn on goblins int he human city is overwhelming if you're the only one there.

Im in the US, no lag at all. Like 150 or less ms ping time.

why this unbelievable hype? this must be a sneaky marketing trick! i have seen tons of HD videos on youtube... sorry, the game looks just an early beta. awful soundeffects included! 

some people have been waiting for 5+ years for this game. It's hard to admit that it's mediocre at best in its current state.

Are you completely uninformed? How did you pull that statement our of your arse? Water is one of the top features Microsoft was showing off when introducing DX10.

EDIT: I feel an edit is nessesary. I have no opinion about DF's graphics. All I am saying is that Water simulation is one of the features of DX10.

Exact;y with everything maxed it looks just like Hexen to me (except those ugly black lines round everything). To compare it to LOTRO (for example) is just <lolz and spits food everywhere>.  There goes any credibility.

LOL. Seriously. Since when is FPS increase equal to graphics improvements. Get a clue. But still water looks a lot more realistic in DX10. So John is wrong on that part.

Except some of the scenery in Vanguard and Age of Conan, nothing comes really close to LOTRO environments.

I am not here to troll against Darkfall. But saying Darkfall's graphics are on par with LOTRO is just plain silly!

I have now seen plenty of highres screenshots of Darkfall and while some of the graphic scenery isn't all that bad, still it doesn't even come close to the quality of textures and detail LOTRO provides.

He was referring to shadows.  He said the shadows in DF were better than LOTRO.  The graphics in LOTRO, AoC, and VG obviously surpass those of DFO.

Ofc, those games don't run at 70 fps with a 9800gtx and 50 people fighting on your screen either.

Funnily enough I am which is why I laughed and spat food everywhere. Actually pretty much can't be bothered to log into DF anymore. Now if ypu comapred DF to that 1996 classic Hexen I would say yeah OK. In fact I chalenge you to tell the Alfar lands (particularly bad) from Hexen.

Some one post decent screens of Alfar land, I have yet to see any!
