Gameplay wise probably the same time it took wow or gw though Mythics patching sucks. If you main sub wise it'll never reach there levels.

Coming from a person who played the living shit out of Guild Wars, played WoW off and on and has gaming roots dating back before EQ and UO with text based shit:

WAR will never catch up to WoW in terms of sub numbers. Guild Wars is the only game I can think of that even stands a chance of coming close, but that's at half the accounts, and that's factoring in they never have sub fees so the accounts are always active (pending they don't get banned or whatever).

In terms of content, I'm hoping the new stuff we're seeing rolled out over the next couple months will start to be them finally getting the game on track and in the right direction. I'm hoping it compares to a more PvP mirror of the success Lord of the Rings Online had.

If you want a game as massive and fleshed out as WoW and GW, go play WoW and GW.

Warhammer RvR/PvP isn't enough to keep the player base interested. Only good RvR actions is only during Prime time, which then you get a chance to get Cities and new gear- because if you've gotten a full set of darkpromise -you'll be bored till a citie is being fought for.

PvE and Crafting Content has to be good  in order to keep a game going.

Wow, I have to say after being flamed over numerous times by people on this site about comparing Borehammer with GW this is kinda amazing to see (people actually know GW is better than Borehammer).

I would say at the rate Mythic is going with the direction of this game it will never be up to par with WOW or GW.

They should just upgrade the UI, interfacte and graphics in DAoC and call it a day on Borehammer.

Totally agree with this. IF MYthic reliase this, than i will give them another 3 years to be on par with current WoW content. Never play GW so cant comment.

UI wise, i like the lock taskbar feature on War by making it just at the side of it. Rather than WoW where you have to go into the interface everytime.

To be able to achieve this.Mythic will have to change the core design of their end game or else I don`t see them being as good as GW or WoW.

Not sure where it is in relation to GW...

Probably better comparing this to GW and EVE instead of Wow. Can never reach Wow.

In terms of game quality, WAR isn't going to catch Guild Wars before next February 30.

People seem to have rose colored glasses when it comes to WOW. I remember WOW having all kind of stability issues in its first 6 months, including plenty of days when the servers were completely down. Players rightly complain that WAR's end game could use some work, but many of the higher level dungeons in WOW didn't come out for months. Finally, I still feel that WAR's renown system is head and shoulders above WOW's old PVP ranking system. WOW simply was the main game in town at the time, which is why people stuck  with it. Unfortunately, the WAR devs don 't have that luxury as they try to make major adjustments.

In terms of Guild Wars, the original Prophecies had extremely repetitive PVE and predictable PVP, unless of course you were playing in top GVG or HA matches. The Factions expansion added RVR-lite and more casual PVP options, and Nightfall really made the PVE content interesting. So really GW wasn't complete until more than a year 1/2 after launch.

In short, I don't think WAR will ever catch up with WOW, despite the fact that if you compared the two games at launch, WAR did quite a few things better than WO W did back in 2004. Instead, I think WAR should take a page from GW and realize that you can have fun and engaging PVE content in a PVP title.

um first off.. i been playing ( not atm ) wow since betas, and since retail release.. all those talks a bout wow servers being down 24/7 is nonsense..  it was there and here.. but it was nowhere near that much as ppl tend to say , and it was only cuz they didnt expect such interest in game.

and server crashing have nothing to do with game content , ill take game with endless endgame content , even if that game have server down for 2 days from 7 in a week..

I don't think it'll ever be a mainstream as those 2 games. It had a chance in the begining just like DDO did but then like DDO people left in mass amounts. If it can stabilize as a niche game then War fans should be happy with that.

Hard mode is really what made Guild Wars a complete game, and that came about two years after launch.

while i know war is ment to be a pvp game they really need to add alot more pve elements to compete with other games even the other ones considered pvp games.while i do love pvp there needs to be something to do other than rvr and scenarios for people to do to stay content and happy.war is fun...at first but wears off too fast when pvp is basicly all there is to do.

What improvements?

Adding some classes isn't going to improve the game. This game is so linear and boring I wouldn't even know where to start.

This game will never be on the same level as WoW or GW. What they are doing I would hardly classify as "improvement" The game is so dull and boring its not even funny.

MMORPG Character Monuments

...When its time for your character to take a well deserved rest...

I think that 6 months should be enough time for the game to get into the upper tier of MMOs. It will take a year in order to become a mega hit like WOW

Since you seem to assume it can become a "mega hit like WOW" you must have some definition of that right? So what is the basic requirements for being that? More content? Less Bugs? More subs?
