How do you feel about Darkfall now that the NDA has been lifted, and do you plan on pre-ordering (I was never a fanatic, but I'm not pre-ordering because I've been unable to get Darkfall to run on my primary computer, a laptop (which has ran Vanguard, WAR, WoW, AC, AO.. Etc))

This is not an attempt at a flame, I'm just curious to know if the people who backed the game without all of the flooded information are still backing the game after they've read a few reveiws that may have put Darkfall in a not such positive light.

cost $53 and some change for the game..

 Already preordered, most of my guild has manged to preorder, or are in the proccess right now, we are hoping for an explosive start.

I believe that most people who are for the game will try out the game no matter what.

Those who commonly trolled the forums with slogains like 'Dark-fail' had no intention of trying the game at all.

IN the end, I expect Darkfall to have a modest following initially of 30-50K players. The question will be after a month will more come.

Have pre-order and played beta for a month. Love it. The world is not going to shake at it's release but it will grow a respectable following overtime. The gankefesters will not stay long as Orgainziard guilds claim the cities and reign in the over zelous players.  It will not be a game for everyone and you with either get it or not (In sterms of understanding) 

To bad about your main machine Client runs fine on most builds update your board drivers maybe.

Those numbers are good enough for me on  one server or 4...

I pre ordered, i aint playing anything else on the market so...

After beta testing, I'll be buying a brand new Graphics card, preordering darkfall, and getting the longest sub they have. This has been a great beta experience. My whole guild will most likely be preordering.

I beta tested and loved the game, but I wouldn't call myself a fanatic.

The computer req are really low for this game, so I'd bet it's a driver issue.

I know a couple people playing with on-board graphics, and a lot of laptop players that had standard Dells. (crap video)

If you ran Vanguard you should be fine.

There have been about 10k preorders last I checked, and that is with the preorder link being up about a day and it being basically overloaded (not working most of the time) because the link that was suppose to only be for beta testers at this point got leaked.

Yea bought a new vid card.. not for darkfall though trading out my 8800gts for a 285

I play alot of fps games and gta 4 is a hog. Took forever to save the money, with my kids and all.. i like to tap my personal stash for something special all the time for them.

And I guess that's the thing.. I won't be able to test it (or wasn't able to test yesterday) and I don't really feel like throwing 50 bucks away on another game, like I did with FFXI.. Now, before all of you chime in with the "I spend more than that a night at the bar," or "it's twice that for a decent hooker" don't bother.   I know the value of a dollar, and being single 50 bucks can go a long way (in this case, it'll go into my "dirt bike fund").

Don't really need the reviews considering I am and have been in beta. Yes, I am pre-ordering. Yes I am playing.

Some of the reviews I have read started talking about missing features etc. Thats where I stopped reading since the only missing feature is Player owned housing. 1 Feature out of everything Aventurine has promised I have found missing. Nothing else. So those reviews I ignored at that point.

Some went to say they won't be playing because Aventurine won't fix the rouge system or a few of the things coverd here         forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php, since it has already been stated these are being looked at , there really isn't a reason to review them without including this in the review

* We recently added one guard tower to each faction quest hub. There are only three faction quest hubs in each racial territory, so they have little impact on gameplay, other than offering some protection for players who just started playing the game.

* As far as rogue/alignment mechanics go, we are looking at various improvements to the system. Keep in mind that at release you can only have ONE character, so the majority of the playerbase may play the game differently than they do in beta.

So when  review went on about the above I quit reading because these things are being looked at already, until we see what they do, theres really nothing to review on that matter.

Some of the reviews went on about how Combat is nothing but Circle Straffing and spamming LMB, some said it was about nothing but potions and food. These to I stopped reading because of there inaccuracies. Those circle straffing spamming LMB are the ones clamming combat is nothing more than who has the most potions and food. Thats what most of us did as newbs, until we learned how to play.

So all in all it isn't wise to base your opinion of the game on those reviews any ways. My advice, don't pre-order, wait for a free trial and review it for yourself. DarkFall is a niche game so not everyone will like it, but you would be surprised who it would appeal to.

The PvE is pretty good, Personaly I have hated the dumbed down AI and PvE in other games. DFO has finaly given me a reason to not just be about the PvP.

PvP is a lot of fun and does take skill, some of the ones that flat out suck at it because they refuse to learn and simply contnue to circle strafe and spam LMB have said otherwise which is fine, others honestly just didn't enjoy it. 

Crafting is a grind, hate to say it but right now it is. Needs a bit of loving from the Devs. On the other hand Enchanting in DFO is one of the most interesting trades ive seen in an MMO. You have to discover the reciepes. They don't drop, you won't find them on mobs, you have to experiment and actually discover them. This has been a difficult task for many, and no one seems willing to share, which to me is a good thing. Enchanting is DFO's redeeming quality as far as the crafting system goes. The ingredients for it come from skinning mobs. Goblin teeth, corpse flesh etc.

Clan vs Clan, This is where DFO truly shines. The whole city building is so much like an RTS you feel like a Peon in an RTS game. Not only that, you can capture other cities. You can lose cities. The whole thing is just sweet. AoC and War could have taken a lesson here. Once you experience it, that crap from other games just doesn't cut it.

anyways this became longer than I wanted. So yes, I am still backing this game. Just about every promised feature is in minus 1 that ive noticed. It's challenging and fun. The client and server tech seems rock solid, even under the conditions were playing in. Yes  I am pre-ordering.

As a beta tester in US...i barely experienced any lag, and when i did it was a short spike, and this is with debugger running.

I dont think anyone should worry about waiting for the NA servers if lag is the only concern.  You will be able to transfer your EU character to NA servers anyways.

You may not like the style of AoC's Gfx, but they are undeniably good either way, Darkfall hasn't just been in development since 03, you can tell it at a glance!

And lets not even get into the char creation, animations, and the wonky armor... its like EQ and WoW had a bastard child.
