I didn't watch it, and this isn't going to go over well, but anyway...

If a woman starts hitting me, as in physically attacking me, then she has decided to relinquish any right to chivalry that she may have had. At the point she begins attacking me, I'm going to hit her back. When she decides to hit me, she becomes a threat, and threats are neutralized in any way necessary.

That being said, I'd never hit a woman unless she was physically attacking me.

Having said that, I have a very simple rule when it comes to violence against women. If she's armed then she's going to meet my fist followed by the floor. Unless she's wielding a gun or a chainsaw, obviously.....

I'm going to tell you, I have been in an abusive relationship...long time ago and got the crap beat out of me a number of times by an ex-boyfriend.   Did I deserve it?  NO.   He accused me of cheating on him constantly!   I never once - ever - cheated on him.  Just because I was talking to some guy does not mean I am sleeping with him.   With that said.   I do not know if hitting anyone is the anwser to any arguement - though we'd surely love to, I do not think it is right.  However...if a fight does ensue...men and women have the right to defend themselves - within reason.   That is all I have to say on this matter.

He long ago made it clear it depended on what the woman was doing. IE if she's hitting you then hit her back.

He did not promote or mean it in terms of beating wives or anything of the kind.

My cousin has been in a abusive relationship like yours, but let me ask you, what did you do AFTER the first time he beat you up and why didn't you just bouce after the first time? Like I'm not really sure what triggers a woman to stay with an abusive person. My cousin was just getting beat up almost every other day till my family found out.

I wanted to beat the guy up, but it's the woman whom has to show the true colors of their relationship. Honestly if a woman hit me, I'm calling 911 and she can spend a night in jail and face assult. I'll tell the officer that hey, it's either me or her. Now it all depends on the situation. Like if she was my girl and she hit me, I'd probabily just leave her, because if a woman feels that THEY have a right to hit a man is not the kind of woman a person like me is intrested in. It's a mixture of troubles.

Being said that, getting my ass kicked back in Matial Art classes and one of my ex's being a fighter, we just just had random sparing sessions in random locations. That's diffrent though, but if a woman came at me with anything other than a hand, I will defend myself and then call police later.

To answer you I will use a response I made in a similar post about almost the same topic.   Though he had smacked me a couple of times previously it wasn't like the last time.

He wasn't a jerk when I met him. He was actually a pretty nice guy. He became more and more demanding and controlling as our relationship grew...really super jealous. If he even saw me talk to another guy he thought I was sleeping behind his back. One day we got into a fight because of this and when I turned to walk away because he was getting out of control he grabbed me and hit me with a backhand across my face knocking me to the floor. Bloodied my lip, nose and blackened my eye. He stood over me and said he wasn't done yet and called me a bitch. I sat there crying as he yelled at me calling me a two bit whore and all kinds of names. Then he stomped out of the apartment. When I went to my brothers house he looked at me and went ballisitic. Took me to the doctors. I didn't think I needed to go...this of course got my mom and other bothers and a sister involved. I was told to press charges by the doctor...I didn't. So my brothers went and found the guy at one of the bars in town. Took the guy outback and well...I never saw him again...I guess my brothers scared him enough he left town. I know they didn't kill him because when I got back to my apartment the spare keys were there and his stuff was gone and there was a note that said - "The apartment is yours bitch." . All my brothers ever said was they took care of it. Never saw him again.

Sorry to hear that story. Quite blessed to have such a caring family. Who knew what could have happened if they wern't there for you. One more question, though. I promise last question, why didn't you want to press charges?

But on the note of hitting women. Sometimes I think it's necessary, especially in this day and age. Alot of women have become use to the fact that there is such a taboo on hitting them, that they feel free reign to go ballistic. Not all women, but some.

I had an ex that was this way. She was at times very verbally, and even physically abusive. She was not a twig either, so she could hit rather hard. Yet I was not a guy who couldn't defend myself, yet I'm very pacifistic and never felt pushed to the edge of no control where I would hit a woman. Honestly though...She probably needed it. There was no boundary, and she pushed those boundaries, and alot of women become this way, and it's wrong. I think if a woman stops acting like a lady, she loses the right to be treated like one. Would I ever hit a woman? I don't know. Probably if she pushed me to the very brink(something that takes me hard to do), or cheated on me.

But in all honesty, society has created a messed up situations, a scream for equal rights, yet not wanting the negative part of being equal.

Unless it's some sort of fight for life situation, no it's not right.  It's pretty pathetic, actually. 

This guy my mom was 'seeing' hit her.  I was still a kid ... took a frying pan to him one day when he was sleeping.... yeah it's kind of cowardly but fuck I was a lil kid... the guy never came back and what's fucked up  - my mom was pissed as hell and beat me...
