So, so far 25th is the date it will be for all people, or only for preordered people?

err . . . what exactly is dodgy about it?

Nothing dodgy about it. You have more then enough time to read the reviews now the NDA is lifted to make up your mind. Still then you are not forced to buy the game and you can wait till they actualy released the game to look if they improve it between now and then. You can then still wait for a few months, with I quess they might released a trail.

Digital distribution is much cheaper then pressing CD's, creating box art, printing the box art, and shipping.  Not to mention the amount of logistics involved in physical distribution.

More and more companies are moving towards, and already utilizing, digital distribution.  Even Blizzard uses.
It's also a much more viable and realistic means of getting a game out to the masses for indy and small companies with limitted resources. 

The magority of all entertainment media I got is through digital distribution.  From movies, music, to games.   Hell, I can download books now.

I tried it once, but I really didn't get much enjoyment out of calling people I didn't know crooks and con artists.  I guess you're just better at then I am.

however, the link to the preorder page has gone public and the server is no longer responding

Question: How many time can you download the game if you buy it?  Is there a limit?  Like that game spore where you can only dl it 3 time?

I am not sure about spore, I heard that on here.

No, he's not lieing. Tasos gave the beta testers the link, for pre-pre ordering xD....

Some dumb beta tester leaked the link, the link crashed.

They're trying to fix it right now.

I managed to get the link to load ..once.. but it says you can't use your community username/pass, and the new game account page isn't loading properly for me yet

AOC is Nine billion times more compacted than this 1990's clone.

A huge amount of money was spent on AoC and WAR which resulted in two decent but heavily flawed games. The distribution method shows how little money these DF guys had to make the game. It will launch with serious flaws. But I am not saying don’t buy it, all I say is wait till we see some reviews in the mags. Let others be the lemmings.

after 3-4 hours of trying to make an account, validating, billing info & pre-ordering of the game, i finally managed to pre-order the game -.-'. download of the game will be available tomorrow, saturday according to the site.
