  According to the old pros in that game using a mouse is not auto lose.  Each offers its own advantages and it depends on how you fly.

As i never got to play JGC in the past, what were the advantages of a mouse over a joystick and vice versa?

I imagine it makes the game easier to mess around with overall, considering you don't switch places with your mouse.

And since they can't expect everyone to pick up a joystick, I'm sure they'll optimize it for keyboard and mouse.

With Newtonian Physics you will most definitely want a joystick and throttle.

 I'm an avid mouse+keyboard user, and will most likely be using this setup straight off the bat for JGE. That said, if I really like the game and am going to play it for years, and if it turns out that there's a controller type that is more advantageous / makes the game more fun, I have no problem with buying it, even if it's not particularly cheap. It'll just be part of the experience for me.

In the video linked in the post above it seemed like that player's control setup with joystick/throttle worked very well.

i sincerely hope we can dogfight as intensely as that kid with the 3rd Person view.. the 1st person view is so dull for me

Just my keyboard and gaming mouse

Only thing i'm able to use is CH Pedals and  Sidewinder joystick on a usb adapter, I miss my Thrustmaster F-16 flightstick with throttle.  The kid in the video was using this combo.

Since one of my pets chewed on my joystick and messed it up I will play with the keyboard and mouse and will decide whether the joystick will be better and switch to that if I think flying will be easier.
