I imagine it makes the game easier to mess around with overall, considering you don't switch places with your mouse. And since they can't expect everyone to pick up a joystick, I'm sure they'll optimize it for keyboard and mouse. |

With Newtonian Physics you will most definitely want a joystick and throttle.

I'm an avid mouse+keyboard user, and will most likely be using this setup straight off the bat for JGE. That said, if I really like the game and am going to play it for years, and if it turns out that there's a controller type that is more advantageous / makes the game more fun, I have no problem with buying it, even if it's not particularly cheap. It'll just be part of the experience for me. In the video linked in the post above it seemed like that player's control setup with joystick/throttle worked very well. |

Only thing i'm able to use is CH Pedals and Sidewinder joystick on a usb adapter, I miss my Thrustmaster F-16 flightstick with throttle. The kid in the video was using this combo. TBJ |

I will play with the keyboard and mouse and will decide whether the joystick will be better and switch to that if I think flying will be easier.
