I been in beta for a few months (same as many others here), so if you have questions you want answered..just ask them. This goes to both haters and fans. |

The balance issue is very different for DF then other MMOs. The races have not the same staring points, and you are the person responlibly in the end for your character. I have beaten armoured people when i was naken., because the other one underestimated me. And i fought some heavy armoured orcs for 90 minutes without even getting thier health to 50%. So we cant speak about balance as we do in other games. |

Grinding is the worst idea ever integrated into a game... I would much rather have fun. |

Hey Daarco... The question burning my mind pertains to the guard towers that were placed in random wilderness towns. Are the guard towers in every outlying wilderness hovel, or are they only in the starter area, towns? Sorry, this is a game-breaking feature if the towers are everywhere, killing reds for attempting to bank. Thanks for your time...I can't express my excitement that the NDA is down, Tasos is acting like a rational human, and Darkfall actually sounding more appealing. ------------------------------- |

Stability: It's as stable as a finished game, however it hasn't been stress-tested, so it's as stable as however many players are playing at the moment. Graphics: They're decent. The animations aren't that great, though. Content: The content is really all about other players. I didn't find it that enjoyable fighting mobs by myself, but playing with a clan (looking for clanstones, warring other clans, group fighting vs pks) is where the bulk of the enjoyment is. Balance: There probably won't really be any balancing issues since there are no classes. If one skill is the best for something, then everyone will get it and it will balance itself that way. Fighting is definitely a lot more fun when you can switch between a bow, a sword, and a magic staff all for one fight.

Are hyperthreaded and/or dual core CPUs supported? If so, are there optimizations for them? Both have been available for a few years now, so I hope they're supported. ~Ripper |

Guard towers are in starting towns, and each town has a questline that leads to a bank not far from the town where the questline basically ends. There are towers there also. It isn't that big of a deal as they mostly protect newcomers doing their initial quests (can be done in 3-8 hours). After that guilds and clans will spread into hamlets and cities. My least favorite part of the game right now is that there is no player housing outside of guild stuff. The world just begs for it. |

Originally posted by TheHoweller They are NOT everywhere. They're near starter towns. They're also (at the moment anyway) hardly insta-kill. I saw a red parrying the guard tower and he was standing there for like 2 minutes and maybe took 10% damage to his overall health. A group of like 10 highly skilled reds were provoking people to PvP vs them about 10ft from a starting town and we ended up fighting against them for like 30min. No guard towers killed any of the reds. |

The quests you can find are more of an toturial of different things, crafting, magic and so on. |

Gurdtowers are no problem for the players. They are 10 meters from the spawn area. |

Also right now 1hand and dual wield weapons need to be buffed a bit or altered. 2 hand weaps are a bit overpowered, but I think the devs have already acknowledged it. |

How would you guys say crafting is? Is it fun? (Main concern) Is it profitable? Is it viable? (materials are easy to find)
Thanks again. ------------------------------- |

When people ask about balance in MMOs they generally want to know "are orks better than humans?" "are archers better than mages"? But in a game like this, the answer will be different because you can be any race with any skillset. There are no classes. So if something is really strong, it's not like one group won't be able to take advantage of it - everyone can. |
