The clicky shitty games will be dead once Darkfall, Earthrise, etc come out. WAR is a clicky shitty game. End of. |

New classes, oh good; too bad the combat system still blows, and the game still lacks any real depth. Oh and RvR is still broken and tiers 3 and 4 are garbage. A giant list of patch notes little of which has any actual substance or meaning.
You know you're game is terrible when your game's engine is worse off than many F2P MMORPGs. |

Yes War will survive because its alot of fun to play. The sub numbers are increasing right now. Yes it had 750k and yes it went down to 250k or so. But now sub numbers are above 300k (thats increeasing by the way). Russia and Korea launch could easily add another 50k-100k plus players and alot of people will resub because of the new expansion. So War should be fine. If War wants to go over the 1 million mark it will have to get a contract with China. China is the bulk of the MMO market. Oh and and War only laid people off because EA needed to lay people off. The economy is bad and everyone is cutting back. But its not because of game performance. |

I don't understand the people gushing about the "new" classes like Mythic is doing them a huge favor. These are classes that should have been in at launch, just like the Blackguard, just like KoTBS. People wanted to play as a Human, but wanted to play a Tank. No Human Tank. Players quit. They wanted to play as an Orc, but there's only one Orc class. Players quit. This game has been hemorrhaging subs for months and they're scrambling to retain a player base. But, despite my utter disappointment in this game, I'm pretty sure it'll scrape up enough subscribers to continue limping along for awhile. Heck, I might even try it again in a few months if they continue to add content. |

I hope WAR will survive. I hope EA will give the game some time to turn around. Mythic need to do a lot of work to turn the game around. I cancelled my sub today because I got bored with the gameplay. I've been playing since release and enjoyed myself, but since the start of February I've been finding myself logging on less frequently. The problem with WAR it has no longevity, RvR is a joke at the moment, it consists of repeating scenerios or grinding keeps along as there's no opposition. I've been in to many warbands that just give up and want to more to another zone the moment we have to contend with some opposition because it disrupts there progress gathering influence. PQ's are boring, it's just kill loads of mobs to kill slightly stronger mobs to kill a mob boss, it gets old after a while. On my alts I just skip them because i know I can get better gear from other places. PvE feels tacked on, must be one of the worse mob AI systems in a modern MMO, I've played F2P MMO's with a better system. The quests are well written, its just a shame most of them are kill/collect quests which provide no challenge due to the shoddy AI. It looks like I'm having a pop at WAR, but thats not the case, I hope the game survives and Mythic can fix these fundamental game design issues and I hope to visit WAR sometime in the future. DISCLAIMER: This is just my opinion and I'm sure other players opinion will reflect differently then mine. |

I think Mythic is starting to realize that they need to go back to their DAoC roots. The Tomb Kings and their plans on redoing keeps kinda makes me think that they realized a WoW clone isn't gonna cut it. I really wouldn't be surprised if they added a 3rd faction in their first real xpac.
They're now going for a simplified version of DAoC. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Personally I don't think WAR will make it a Year. No Depth, PvP is a hopeless zerg swarm, and The devs are either biased or stupid (Witch Elves PWning all) Only 1 orc class, and no tanks on humans untill recently) If a game starts out at a million subscribers and drops as fast as it did, the game isn't slotted to last. EA probably will close the doors to the eternal city and altdorf and throw away the key. I say good riddance to a let down like this. |

WoW, well, I wish you guys could see the hordes of new players joining Warhammer in the last two months and we're all having a real blast. I see nothing but great success for this game, even more so in the future. Casual cross-game mmorpg guild. Minimum age requirement of 25. Gunbad.com |

Originally posted by Zorndorf But perhaps the concept of "one for all and all for one" is no longer working. RvR is contradicted in the "choices" players do need to have. The two most popular western games are all about "working on your avatar progress (and evolution)" and PvP with it IFyou are "in the mood" for it. EVE PvP is harsh and Wow' Arena is based on a ranked competition ... but both games are always centred around YOUR avatar and its choices. Perhaps RvR is not such a good concept after all.
ofc the RvR is not that good of a concept for massified mmorpg's. There are some individuals that live with the idea that RvR is the best thing ever when it comes to pvp , but for the masses pvp quality is defined by the 1 v 1, what warhammer and the RvR team setting (that forces character power limitation to make team play mandatory) are not very good at that. To make things even worse for the RvR is dead to a large segment of today's MMORPG players, that are very different from mmorpg players of the early 2000, that are only concerned about their own progression and achievement. Some one, in this forum, once aswered me saying that mmorpg now live from the "console generation" of players, that try to get full potential and find the need of compromisses unatural,,, and he was right. This is not a game problem tho, rather a consequence of current school system that passes years telling you kids that they are special....well if i'm special, why should i make concessions to others?... masses are like that, and if you can beat them , better join them, so ... i started with UO and the "one for all ,,," meant something for me , but with the years I changed and now see other players as either a colorful part of the landscape or oddly scripted npcs because "i am special"... and oddly enough I actually started not only to to have more fun (no compromises or attachaments of anykind in my game play ) but also winning more vs others. |

Let me get this straight, you would actually PAY 40 bucks for 2 MORE classes and another dungeon? There's a reason why everyone who quit is laughing at this "expansion" as they like to call it. It's not even enough to call a content patch as far as most people are concerned. If they spent half as much time on fixing things and actually making the game fun, with a working endgame and a replayable PURPOSE as they did on developing this grand "expansion" maybe they would stand a better chance at getting people to come back instead of leaving. yet thats what WOLTK is. i think mythic is doing a good job by giving us all of the new stuff for free. 55 pages of patch notes? if you dont think thats pretty impressive then your on crack. ya maybe it shouldve been in the game but its not and we cant go back and change that. at least their not charging for it |
