I don't play World of Warcraft any longer as the game went in a direction I do not enjoy but i have noticed Blizzard is giving more options. Dual specs? That is fine, gives their current players more variety in their game play. Blizzard is known for giving the most free content away and gameplay alternatives than any other MMORPG that exist. Blizzard offers PvP for PvP players. Blizzard offers solo play for solo players. Blizzard offers raiding for raid oriented players etc etc. Is it time for different server options other than the current? Blizzard should be the first MMO to offer extreme versions of their game. I would like to see a original game server and a TBC server mixed among the others. How about some alternative servers such as all equipment is tradeable, maybe some weird wacky PvP servers with different rules. Just some thoughts. Blizzard would bring me back with a classic server as would other MMORPGs if they offered a classic server. Expansions destroy MMOs to the point the original design is washed away. |

If they dont come out with expansion than everyone will QQ that no new things to play, and will ask where their $15 have gone etc.... Ultimately mmo will continue to add new content, that's how they keep players. To have a pre BC server? i know alot of players have been asking about that, maybe 1 day when their new mmo is out and pop start to decline, they may...

Everything tradable would make me play the game again. But the reason they have BoP and BoE is so people will play longer for their gear so I doubt they would do that. But as I said I would be all over that like a cat eatin a lizard. I know they could fil up 3 or more servers "pre bc" if they advertised it...truth is I would probably make a char there also. A full loot would be a personall dream of mine... A PvP where we are allowed to stalk others like prey without violating ToA ^_^ That's also a dream of mine. A PvP without elite guards that I would love so much. I "would" like to see people moved from small server to server based on level..that would be an interesting experiment eh? Finally a server where crafted items get +10-20% stats depending on the item. Face it crafting sucks now there is no point besides a few items while leveling up. |

well you did not start the sentence with it, but the meaning was the same. So if you are going to tell someone else not to do it then probably you should not do it yourself. Oh sayer of Galactic Truth. |

I don't think they need to stop making expansions. I was only speaking of one classic server being created to pull in the subs of folks that would stick around if the original game still existed. |

Why all the hostility? I don't even play WoW because I do not like the current direction of the game, I don't know where you get that I am a "fanboy". |

A lot of neat ideas! I would enjoy trying out some of the servers you mentioned. |

I often lament the loss of WoW classic. I wish they would create a server with no 40 mans available, just the raidable Strat, BRS, etc, and then slowly impliment the raid zones as it actually occured back then. This would allow for servers to progress naturally, and wouldn't make the idea a joke because everyone just went straight to Naxx40. I don't see it happening though for a couple reasons. They would have to roll back everything, including the specs, the available green gear, the way stats work, etc. It would not simply be finding an old backup disc and installing it on some random server. This would take a lot of work and effort. I don't think Blizz would be willing to do that for the handful of new subs. |

I dont see Blizzard offering Classic servers because people would flock to them for that feeling of nostalgia and then leave in herds after they quickly remember how god awful Vanilla WoW truly was. Blizzard had no idea what they were doing back then. The talents were aimless and the itemization of gear was horrendous. Blizzard didnt get a clue until the very end of Vanilla when they rolled out Naxx. Yeah, its great to look back with rose tinted glasses but those days are gone. Its fine if you do not like WoWs current direction but do you have to linger here on the message boards? |

Crafted gear is fine as it is -- it shares the same i-level as the majority of Nax-10's gear (ilvl200). (EDIT: If they want to make a single server where these ideas specifically apply, however, I wouldn't have an issue, I suppose.) |

This tired argument is just a tired argument. For some the original game was better than the current live version. It is a matter of opinion. I think they must have had some clue to what they were doing or millions wouldn't have played and continued to play. It isn't rose tinted glasses, you may have forgotten that the original game was very popular. These boards are here for suggestions, comments, discussions of MMORPGs. If you do not want to read a post then don't. But don't try to tell others why there opinions are wrong. |

I never said your opinion was wrong. I never even directly mentioned you in my post. Dont accuse me of something I didnt do. Blizzard had a clue? Really? Because as we all know the entire Paladin Protection tree was awesome and Spirit on Warrior gear was genius. Yeah, Blizzard really had a clue. WoW became popular because as bad as it was back then it was still better than everything else. Well, Blizzard has stated several times they have absolutely no intentions at all of ever having Classic servers. So, live in your nostalgia filled world of what could be all you want. |

The Paladin and Shaman use to be hybrids before in the game. If you think the current version of the game is perfect, there are plenty of flaws in the current game. The original design of the game isn't there anymore. It is a matter of preference. Call it what you will, nostalgia. You have some nerve to come here and tell me why I prefer the original to the current. I am not going to tell you why you prefer what you prefer. I happen to prefer the original design of the game. I liked the game when it was PvE focused first and PvP last. I enjoyed actually have hybrid classes like the Paladin and Shaman where you could choose a tree to enhance their hybridization yet not turn the class into a main class. I enjoyed it when dungeons were difficult over the current run in and AOE everything down without crowd control. To me the current game is broken but to you it isn't. I am smart enough to realize this. I hope you can respect my opinions to when the game was at its best. There is always going to be flaws in any game. I happen to believe WoW was a great game in it's original form so did millions of players who played it. You can dismiss it by saying it was the only thing out, which it wasn't. If people didn't think it was a fun game they could have not played it. I loved the original EQ up to Velious as well, but to me the game is ruined now. Go ahead and dismiss it as nostalgia, I know why I enjoy what I enjoy. I still enjoy Diablo 1 and it sure hasn't been changing over the years. I just liked the game for what it was. |
