I can't believe the behavior here due to Darkfall, which IS a real game, being developed and is NOT released yet. People are claiming, " vaporware, it isn't coming out, it's garbage, I'm a HUGE fan, stop bashing the game, stop trolling, and so on... it's very juvenile. Adults are even doing it. You can't log in here and discuss any opinions, or points of view without being flamed, belittled, humiliated, or being called names. This site is almost as juvenile as trade chat in WoW. I'm SURE there are decent people here, but I'm beginning to think there aren't many. The waste of time people expend debating a GAME is beyond reasonable. It's like to sports fans arguing who is going to win a game based on player stats. So I bid you all farewell. I wish you the best, and hope some of you mature and realize how insane you have appeared to me. Moderators: you are sad and have let your site degrade into a kindergarten battle at the back of a school bus. There are many other site out there with a maturity level much higher than this one has fallen into. Good bye.

Amen. Everything you say is a 100% true.
However i like it that way. I have been on "mature" boards where they were big on censurship. Coming here and being called an asshat is a refreshing change to the facist boards out there

To be honost even though the game seems to have many feature´s I would like in a MMORPG it´s the community from both sides that really have put me of of that game. ------------------------------------------------------------ |

Because most of us have seen mmorpgs like this come along being claimed the next big thing and it gets release and it's trash. I'm so confident that Darkfall will suck that if it actually somehow live supto the hype, though I know it wont because I've seen the leaked gameplay videos, I'll personally shit in a bowl and eat it and post pictures. |

It would be really empty over there without all the drama though, I tend to lean towards forums that are not so heavy handed with the MOD stick. I like to see flame threads locked up or offtopics removed but let us debate please. Darkfall dug its own hole with the lack of available info, the NDA locked stress test/beta/etc...
A great example of this is when I read up on epic warrior, I knew more about that "New" game in 10 minutes than I have learned from weeks/months of watching the Darkfall forums and websites. Just don't take it all to seriously, people love to hate and people love to rush to the defense of an underdog. In the end the game either comes out or it doesnt, what any 1 or 100 people said has zero effect on that outcome. I called it vapoware last year, I am not ashamed to say that but I might end up eating those words and I havent commented on the game since, I simply check up on it every so often to see where its at. I am actually curious to see what happens with it, it sounds like its coming soon so maybe they can silence the haters once and for all.

Pft, this site is the most harshly moderated site I post on, you're not gonna find any harsher moderation than this. Most sites will just trash Darkfall, and I mean come on, if you can't even joke about a game that's been ready to release for 4 years now, what can you joke about. Everyone is offended over nothing nowadays, if you want no one offending you, just unplug your internet cable, because it's going to happen on every site. You're pretty much whining over nothing, there's official forums you can post on too. Anyway, bye. |

it is because we seen many so called promising mmorpg come out from small companies with loads of promises and turn out to be rip offs and darkfall following the trend of this pre release |

Isn't it funny how we accept rude behavior online as something everybody should just accept or get the hell out and disconnect from the internet. I agree though these goodbye posts are attention whoring at its best. When i leave i leave quietly. However i will never leave!!.

Oh i know. You're german. atleast in your profile. I have been there a couple times. Everybody is pissed off and rude over there so that doesn't surprise me. I think germans still harbors resentment for losing the war and failing to become the uber race. There seems to be this stigmata in you guys. Or maybe you just don't like Danish people who knows. People should expect all kinds of behavior online or grow thicker skin. I don't agree anybody should accept it. If anybody gets their feelings hurt it would be better to find a more friendly place to post.

Giving up an entire site bacause of the bile, and sometimes sheer banality, of the posts in the Darkfall forum seems rather over-dramatic. Don't read them if you don't want to. I couldn't care either way about the game - mainly because there's nothing concrete around to base an opinion on - but at least I find the Darkfall forum funny. |

MMORPG.com goes through phases of heavy moderation... then goes through phases of basically no moderation. Looking back, they all revolved around titles that had THAT much hype surrounding it. DnL comes to mind as a biggy... I remember posts getting deleted, not threads... I think that's the difference. I feel one of the problems with the current moderation is that the team contains a Darkfall Fanatic who is in touch with Aventurine on some level. Locking and Deleting threads at will to get on their better side. I've emailed the admin about it, with no response... at least I used to get responses when I emailed. Overall the sight's been downhill since Dana left. Mr Wood has done a phenominal job making sure the news gets posted in a great, timely, manner, but he doesn't seem to have the community control skills Dana so elequently possessed. - CaesarsGhost Lead Gameplay and Gameworld Designer for a yet unnamed MMO Title. |

People hijack threads here... express opinions as facts. Its the moderation (lack of) in my opinion. I reported a post once and had my post deleted as a result.
So... been a member of mmorpg.com for many years but I dont have 10,000 posts like many of these guys. Some of these guys act like they are trying to break a posting record. I'm with the OP. I'm definately not th enthusiastic member I once was. |

Mature discussion about MMO's is not possible on any forum. It's too much of a diverse genre with conflicting tastes and preferences. The only difference is how heavy the moderation is. I love the drama on MMORPG.com, it's what keeps me coming back and entertains me during an otherwise dull day at work. It never ever fails to amuse.
