I really wanted Warhammer to work out for me, I really did, I tried and tried to have fun in WAR but I wasn't having fun the game just wasn't for me...so after all the horrible things I've heard about Vanguard in the past, I decided to give it a try. Sure it does have some bugs that still need worked out, but I gotta say, this is the most fun I've had in an MMO since the classic days of DAoC and EQ. I can't recall the last time I spent more than 8 hours in front of the computer with a good group of people chatting and actually having "fun"  I spent 3 days on the island, before going out and buying the game. After getting off the island I find alittle more lag, but its all just the same. I found a group straight after leaving, and I'm still having alot of fun.

The game does need more players, it will in no way match WoW's population for the matter, doubt it ever will sad to say, but other than that I think this game is great, I really wished it would have gotten the care it needed before its horrible launch.

I hardly take the time to post about my experiances in an MMO because there is usually nothing to comment about. But I really found vanguard to be my type of game, and when starting vanguard I didn't think I'd play past the trial, in fact I went in thinking that I'd probably be bored out of my mind by the first hour, but I was shocked. I'm just really glad I took the time to give the game a chance.

maybe i will give it a try also some time soon. right now though i am still stuck on playing Eve and enjoying that still... so we will see, but your post helps those that are definitely on the fence about Vanguard.

Yeah, vanguard you really just need to try it, with the trial you have nothing to lose, a free 14 days, if you like it great, if you don't well than its no money lost. I think it was very smart for them to put a trial in, this gives people (such as myself) a chance to see what it is and how it has changed. I'm sure I'll be there for awhile, or at least I hope I will be. The game is simple, yet complex, it has everything I've been wanting to see in an MMO, I wish it wasn't so laggy in areas but it doesn't really bother me to much. It is vast, I love how it is so wide open and theres so much to explore and see.

Glad you are enjoying it.  Hopefully, that lag will go away once they get a server fix in... hopefully yet this week.  A couple of the developers think they figured it out.  Unfortunately, they broke something during last ast week's that caused hitching and lag to return.

According to the forums the issue has to do with daggers?!?   Anyway it is supposed to be fixed in todays patch.

Today's patch fixed the server lag caused by fishing.

Excellent! i didnt read that in the patch-notes but i did notice the server was a bit smoother!
