It looks great no doubt...but doing both the Champions Hands on and the DCUO hands on at CC......Champions needs to go back to the drawing board if they hope to comptete. THis sucks for me because I was a huge Champions PnP fan back in the day...I hoped for so much more. |

Looks good, the big questions for me are going to be quality of gameplay and character developement. Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do. |

So far the only thing DC has over Champions is you get to start off with Villains. If champions doesn't have this AT launch champions will not be the top superhero game. That right there is a gamebreaker. Champions have everything else going for it but that. |

Ozmodan,
Would you care to explain to us non-leets what RMT is? We're not all hard-core gamers here. Thanks.

RMT = Real Money Trading. I.E. spend real world money to get in game advantages.
I dispise PvP, so there is really no chance I will be playing DC as it seems to be all about PvP with PvE thrown in. We all saw how well that worked with Warhammer. I have high hopes for Champions and have yet to see anything I don't like. Then again solid information has been a little lacking about Champions so far. |

No you don't get it...that special colored cloak, or that temp travel power that you buy won't effect your silly PVP. Geeze some people have no clue. |

Yeah... SOE doesnt have any RMT items that have a effect on game play. They have not added say XP potions or weapons and armor... No wait they did. Whats worse is that is what they came out with first, as the greed sets in it will get worse and worse.
Lets assume all they add in that is game effecting is the XP boosters. Player 1 plays without buying XP boosters. Player 2 plays all the way to max level using XP boosters.
Player 1 spends most of his/her time just gaining levels and getting what equipment he/she can. Player 2 shoots to max level in 1/2 the time. Then having no more leveling to do spends most of his/her time PvPing or getting better gear. by the time Player 1 hits max level he/she will be a complete noob to DC PvP and will have low end gear fighting Player 2 who has spent a ton of time in PvP and in high end gear.
Massive advantage goes to player 2. Sure given enough time Player 1 can catch up assuming no end game. Otherwise Player 1 will allways be behind Player 2.
Shrug. As long as you plan on being Player 2, it will be fine. But don't worry about all there will be is Player 2s. So in the end you will pay the $14.95 a month plus the cost of the XP enhancers. And having gotten used to getting money for the XP enhancers, do you really think SOE will give up that income stream just because most of the player base hit max cap? Really? |

Graphics wise those screenshots are the first ones that make the game look any good to me. I am one who doesn't like this cell shaded thing they are going after. I think it makes the characters look goofy. But like I said this latest batch of screens are the only ones I've seen that make the game look good. |

I'm right there with you. I will admit I really want this game to work. I try to not be too much of a fan boy about it but.... hey I'm human. Im excited about the game. Having said that. The biggest problem I have had with the game to date is the way the heroes and vilians look in all the screen shots. The background looks ok to me, its the funky way the heroes look that is putting me off. Shrug, I'm still hoping for the best and odds are REAL good I will be pre-ordering this game. Of course the open beta will be the deciding factor for me. (Assuming I don't get picked for closed beta) |

That is it for me too. It's not the game so much that looks off (though in some screens it really does) its the characters in it that look off. Look at these: While it is a bit of a stretch for me to say it but there are large parts of those two shots that look like some kind of advanced flash game. I just don't know. Guess we will see when it is in action. I really want the game to work too and was excited when I heard about it. I played the City Of games for almost two years and had a really good time so I do have high hopes for the game. But man it was like a punch a gut when I saw the art direction. |

I've never been a real stickler for the art direction, as long as its well done and looks professional. Definitely in those two shots you linked the characters look out-of-place, but there was a character model or two in some of these newer screens and I have to say that they looked pretty well-done. -------------------------------------- Order of the White Border. |

Looks great. I don't happen to mind the art-style. It doesn't look like it wants to be anime`, and that's a plus in my book. In the end, all I care about is game-play. How good the PvE game is what sells me. PvP will always be useless. What Happened With SWG Went Down YEARS AGO! Please Try To Stop Whining About It In Every Thread I Read. In a PvP game, someone is always going to be better equipped and more skilled. I'm used to that and it really isn't a big deal. Besides, there's a whole lot of speculation in your post with no solid facts to back them up. |

Yeah, a cash shop really wouldn't keep me from playing a game. Wont effect my fun in the least.. Who knows, maybe I'll find something to buy in said shop. Then perhaps I'll be leet.
