Last date stated Feb 25 for Darkfall release (according to my records)

I well know the history of darkfall release delays. But who knows, perhaps it is the real release this time. Although history is not on my ide Im going to take a chance and bet $1 that DF will either be released and move into open beta feb 25.

Any takers?

There will never be an open beta.  And if they release on the 25th, it will be worth a dollar just to watch the train-wreck.

yes, if Darkfall has succeeded at anything at all, it has been the hours of entertainment I have enjoyed from the postings of the trolls and the fanyboys.

I have to work that night so it will be well worth booting up and reading all the hate on the forums when the train wrecks, that is if it launches.

Ill put a dollar in to watch this wreck :P On another note, I wish I am hopfully wrong and the game does release and it doesnt suck.

SOLD!  I'll take your bet.  Too much isn't out there for the this game to launch on the 25th.  We are talking about a 10gig game not some browser wanna be MMO.

A more interesting bet would be on the date that Aventurine will cry uncle and delay the release again.

On a related note, if they delay, what date will they push it to.

I think the real question, is CAN they push it back?  I have to think they can not, as they obviously know the state of the game.  Of course, devs do seem to wear blinders when it comes to their own game.  /shrug

Push to: they won't say a date, they will say "before summer".

My guess would be they announce delay on the 23rd to a Mar 25th launch, and early access Mar 17th-18th. 

Although I feel like they are pushing for the 25th.  They are getting the 'launch server' builds ready.

I really hope it releases in two weeks that being said I think its 50/50 chance right now.    To the darkfall fans I'll see you ingame.  To the carebears darkfall is open to all I extend to you an invitation to come play a REAL GAME.

I bet that around Feb 18th we get a statement from AV that the Darkfall release is delayed again.  What we should be taking bets on is how long that delay will be: 2 weeks? 1 Month?  Whatever.

This is a shining example of a rehabilitated fanbot ladies and gents. Those who can realize that the game is not ready to release and who are willing to wait a bit longer definitely deserve their reward. It's cruel if Aventurine doesn't deliver.

Either that or they're simply smarter than the average fanbot and jump the gun while they still can, i find it strange that all of the sudden 2 weeks from release they suddenly  go from "the game is finished and ready to launch" to "i hope they delay 1 or 2 months"........consistency is not one of their strong points

Well, one thing is for sure. If the devs remain silent over the next few days, it probably will be delayed

Been there done that already for Jan 22. Seems like the forum frolics are turning into meh. Two weeks out, and still no NDA  drop? I know DF hasn't done anything like most releases, but with no NDA drop seems release is unlikely. Wouldn't you drop the NDA if you were releasing in two weeks? Not droping the NDA until just a few days before release, or on release is bad form, really.

Apparently the logic goes, definitely not. That is - when you have a stinker/incomplete game that you need to release right now, and when you know a large number of dreamers are chomping at the bit waiting to play the first chance they get. And will gladly throw their money away (essentially) sight unseen.

Didn't AoC just recently demonstrate exactly how it's done?

Edit: But I'm not saying Darkfall is necessarily one of these empty shells (yet). I'm just saying that we don't know for sure it isn't.

are preorders still a go for the 15th or whenever? 

If so, they could delay for as long as they want, they may somehow get a large chunk of cash from those fans willing to fork out the money.

On the one hand I hope they release the 25th just to piss of the extremist fanbois delivering a half baked game but I rather have them wait a little longer and do more testing/tweaking as in all honesty we all know this game is not ready for release, a few months won't hurt after all it has been 8 years already.
