I assume this is something the community, or at least Corps and Alliances should have a say in, the DEVs should be asking what 'legislation' needs to be introduced to make Alliances 'firmer', if that's what the Alliances want. And to be fair any organisation witnessing the fall of BOB would get their lawyers in start changing rules.

...

it's happened before though, just not to the band of brothers (otherwise known as the band of developers).  it was always working as intended before; perhaps it takes something like this happening to the dev buddies to get alliances re-looked at.

 again, who knows.

Yeah, a great many things happen more than once before something is done about it, and I'm sure that when they finaly get done 'friends' in high places would be involved. But does it need fixing? Not an issue of should it of been fixed before latest event 'cos its done now, should it be fixed at all?

there shouldn't be any type of rollback for former-bob.

however, the alliance system itself DOES need looking into.  as others have said -- a character with roles, must have the roles stripped and then there is still a 24 hour waiting period before said character can be expunged from the corp.  but, a single character is capable of dissolving an alliance instantly?

i mean, it's great that they have sovereignty now. but again, sov 4 can be lost THAT fast?  as could be seen by posts i'd made regarding bob and their ops (which metalhead QQ'd about, and even after supposedly blocking me, whined for someone to delete), there is a ton  of coordination, logisticis, manpower/hours behind a lot of these operations.  to think that, during the middle of one of these operations, an alliance could simply be torn apart... that's pretty crazy.

so yeah, the alliance system needs looking into.

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

Even though BOB wasnt the nicest corp and they probably did every exploit that ever existed in EVE. I'm pretty sad to see them go.

And seeing them go like that is just sad, Goons are a mix of the worst kind of people you can find on the internets, and its not surprising that they had to act in such a cowardly way in order to take bob down. That the war is as much inside the game as it is composed of forum attacks, account/ forums hacking and of stuff like jsut what happened is what prevents me from getting involved in this game which is the only "true" mmo out there.

I'm not a no life that sits in front of his computer all day long, I'm an intern that sits in front of his computer all day long.

i'd feel bad for bob, if bob hadn't done this same crap (and lots of other things) to other alliances.  so, everything you're saying about the people involved in doing this to BOB... you can also say about the people in BOB.

like i've said -- karma is a bitch.  there's pretty much nothing someone could do to bob (or the new bob) that THEY didn't already do to others in the past.  yeah, they (bob) are that dirty.

BoB isn't gone, they reformed into Kenzoku, the name BoB is gone yes, but it will live on in history.

I am glad they reformed so quickly and regained control, even to they have to rebuild to sov 4

BoB got disbanded by a flaw in the alliance mechanics : a director from an executor corp can NOT disband an alliance, only the CEO can do that, however a director CAN kick all corps out until no corps are left in the alliance and the alliance disbands nonetheless. It is clear that this is a flaw and not intended, but it has also been used in the past, so making an exception now, for BoB, and do a roll back, would not be fair either.

BoB was able to quickly regain control by another flaw in the system, reclaiming towers and getting sov directly after downtime, while you normally need 7 days for a new tower ( correct me if I am wrong )

All in all, Kenzoku ( BoB ) came out alive ( for now ), and the men on the street are starting to look at Kenzoku as the underdog, now that basically all Alliances are banding together against BoB ( Northern Coalition + Southern Coalition ), with the only exception of AAA. ( again correct me if I am wrong )

So once I join the 0.0 game, I won't join the bandwagon of the North and South, cause they are too strong and if they win, 0.0 will be controlled by 1 powerblock.

honestly, i don't think you have to worry about that.  IF dragonballz gets decimated; then, the other groups will just fall to fighting each other.  or maybe the north will move back to their happy "let's fight for fun'" nap with each other; but the south will surely go to trying to destroy each other.

i would hope so.  goons are, self-admittedly, the absolute worst players of eve.  hell, mittens doesn't even log in but what? once a month?  goons are only the puppets of bob anyways, that's what DBP has always said.  if i were dragonballz, i'd worry about folks like RA, or maybe AAA deciding to take a bit out of them.

Worst case scenario that gives us (GBC) the chance to pew pew in delve. Still gotta give it to the goons for sticking to their guns they are still actively camping and making travel difficult in Delve. But i highly doubt NC will be able to establish themselves in the delve region. If Goonswarm started fielding experienced pilots and T2 fitted ships and HAC's they would do a lot more damage. Alas they are still sticking to their zerg tactics.

I thought the same exact thing as I read Elsabolts post.

Seems Elsa may just be a professional troll/eve hater.

Some newb that played a trial got ganked mining and has been trolling eve forums and topics for a long ass time now.

Hell anyone thats read about eve for the last six months can say they played Eve for a couple years.

THis explains the notorious "PVE server" posts this guys has haha!

He even recently posted eve negativity in a DF forum post.
