as the title says im pondering giving aoc another shot to impress me, when i tried it at launch i wasnt pleased at all with several things: the instancing was horrible, 20 versions of every zone so you were often alone (its an mmo i dont wanna be alone i wanna be around people to group and socialize with), the fatalities got me killed all the time cause i would trigger a 10 second beheading animation on the first scrub ild be killing and his 5 buddies would all beat my ass while i was beheading, after 20 the awesomeness of the every quest giver talking and having a story dried up and went away other then the 30\40\50 destiny quests, the spec trees for all the classes didnt work mostly some not at all, casters couldnt kill with spells you did better with your dagger/staff.
what im wondering is if alot of this has changed or stayed the same since theres no trial to find out and i dont wanna waste money if its all still the way it was. thanks in advance for any info you can give me. |

I can keep is simple if you like. Ive been playing MMO's since UO. Ive probably played most of them. If it keeps my interest I stay subbed for who knows how long. If I lose interest I unsub. With AOC I subbed when it came out, played awhile and cancelled. I just recently last month or so resubbed and it has kept my interest. I can explain in detail, but some magic is there that wasnt when I first started. |

I can agree.
Played at launch, enjoyed it but something missing.. alot actaully. Came back today and loving it! Something magic there indeed, one grip I have is the Sieging. I want to be a part of it and do mass pvP (rather than the ganking sessions) but u got to be in a good guild to get some of that action.
I hoping they add some form of towers/keeps or something everyone can get involved in like RvR
Awesome AoC, best mmo played since UO as well. |

k well im reinstalling off my ce disks atm, ive gotten tired of all games and i did like the look of aoc, just not the launch bugs, i unsubbed in july (didnt play but 60 days or less from launch) so i might as well give the game another shot hopeing that class trees work now and i dont have to die just because i pull 3 mobs and go into a long animation cutting the first ones head off while the other 2 spank me coninuously the whole time, my highest guy was a 40 something tempest but i think ill try a ranger, i hear good things about salvo |

Try before you buy. Why give FC your money before you find out whether you want to play the game or not? Get a buddy key or wait for a free trial. |

I resubbed just prior to server merge. Client performance was remarkably better but the game was just as boring post 20 as it was at launch for me. |

they must have changed/added alot, the first patch i saw running the patcher was 101 mb and i was like hmmm they kept it small, but then a 1.36 gb monster popped up after it, still havent subbed again since its still patching but dammmm over a gig and a quarter of patching, must be a changed game or alot of new content added anyway |

Well I'll add my story aswell :P
Quit playing the game after the first free month due to reasons mentioned in your own thread and the game just lost my interest. Now a week ago I saw the box again and I thought, hm WotLK is boring anyway lets try AoC for the phunz. Maxed out my graphics, rolled a new toon, and man I'm loving it! The graphics are just stunning, if it has to be instanced to be looking like that, let it be!Everything is going more smoothly IMO and gameplay is fun.
Since the server merge servers are also really active again, this has a downside on my pvp server though :P 24/7 ganking, but hey I choose for a pvp server and I just have to bare with it! More then enough players leveling btw, I was quite surprised! I'll see where the game brings me, don't have any high expectations and that's already a whole different approach. I'll play it as long as I enjoy it!
So yes it's worth resubbing, give it a decent try and judge for yourself. |

OP and anyone else considering re-subbing to AoC. If you had a sub in the past you can use your old account to send a buddy key to an alternate email address. Then re-install the game and find out for yourself if it is worth re-subbing to. .. .... .- - . - .-. --- .-.. .-.. ... .-- .... --- .-. . .--. --- .-. - .-.-.- Playing: AoC, LOTRO, |

good idea seven, ild forgotten about my old buddy keys in the box although is there a restriction on buddy account other then time limit, like level 20 capped ect, ild like to be sure about more content then the hand holding voice tutorial mode, 15 bucks isnt big money to me i just wanted to mainly ask if the game had been fixed and worked on being made a better product since the launch debacle hehe |

Right, it would probably be best for people that left because of client bugs. I can't answer the question on content as I'm not level 80 yet, to many alts I enjoy. I can't answer if there is a level restriction on buddy accounts. Maybe someone that knows can post. .. .... .- - . - .-. --- .-.. .-.. ... .-- .... --- .-. . .--. --- .-. - .-.-.- Playing: AoC, LOTRO, |

bloody hell funcom is slow, they arent processing my sub renewal, its been 15 minutes and it still says "pending" |

My resub was instant.
I just like to add, its awesome because each patch adds so much. I can re-roll and play the Yimrs pass stuff when 50.. then another big patch is coming in few weeks I can use my level 77 to do all that new content. So if ur new to game ur got too much to do! And if ur old u go so much to do until another patch.
Then they promised to release little and often, rather than these 3 motnh waiting patches.
