Hey there guys, I play MMO's mainly for PvP satisfaction but for the past 4/5 years the MMo's I've been on since DAOC have seriously lacked in PvP.

WoWs pvp is pathetic, is doesnt effect anything in the world and none of their items are dropped when you kill someone. Same with WaR on the looting side but the scope there for individual pvp and notoriousness is limited.

What im after is something like Eve where you are free to do whatever you wish and the only punishment or praise would be from other real players. I dont mind PvE existing but Id like pvp to be the core focus.

Sooooo, do you guys see any game like this on the horizon? Anything that can come close to it? 
 

Earthrise is coming out later this year i believe and it has a pretty harsh PvP system with full PvP loot and a harsh death penalty etc it might be worth taking a look.

There is no game out or coming out that has any effect on the world from PvP.  There are games where you can take over cities and all, but then it just becomes a game of cities switching ownership all the time.  Nothing special.

Lineage 2 is what you are looking for. PVP with a purpose.

Btw.... just to let you know what im trying to recreate...

Ages ago back in the legend of Mir I had myself a Wizard try character, not the highest of levels, but lower/mid and I started to go deep into mines where people were farming, steal something that looked valuble and make my escape with a scroll of teleport. Obviously this led to me being PK on sight and recieving a few angry whispers (That i love about my pvp, I have to be able to communicate with my enemy/prey) Anyway after doing this for a few days I had a nice stash stored of goodies, died a few times but this was np. I recall something rare dropped and I was right in there to steal it and teleport away like usual but I appear a place I dont recognise, after walking around for a while I happen to bump into someone from the guild I stole from and he reports my location to everyone then informs me of this. He doesnt seem too strong, so I PK him and my name colour changes to yellow (signifying that I can now be killed without negative penalties for who kill me for about an hour)
I realise where I am now and start to get into a populated area in the lowbie zone, ofc Im attacked on sight and about 3/4 people started to persue me as I run away (my precious loot!!) I run into some caves with I think 3 levels to them to try and lose them, unfortunatley I dont and they see me as i go down to level 2.
Im informed that they have the exit blocked and some high levels are on the way so I try to hide in this cave somewhere until my murderer status is removed (Im not logging out, thats lame, this was dangerous and hence, fun!) I make myway into the furthest corners of the cave and what do I find..... ANOTHER yellow named player hiding out also!
I Talk to him for a while and we agree to team up and fight our way out, hoping to get out of the cave before the higher levels turn up and head into the wilderness.
We run into the 4 people chasing us from before and a big fight commences, we somehow managed to win and get some nice loot from the bodies too. Back up to level 1 we ran... right into 2 high levels who after me trying and failing to talk my way out of it, slaughtered us with ease and we respawn at the prison camp together.

This is the PvP im after, ofc I expect guards in cities (not all) but I want player justice, big rewards for big risk pvp and rewards for those whom hunt them down. Just some excitement in my PvP!

Come play where the true gamers play that like pure keyboard & mouse skills killing others, come to the FPS multiplayer games.

I find that most gamers who must have pvp in mmorpg's are too big of pu$$ies to play FPS online games cause they lack the skill.

  Hah Mate I've been playing FPS for about 9 years, Reckon at one time I was top 20 in the UK on CS. (SnS) Cu3ball was the name. Used to do Lans, won a real deactivated AK-56. Currently play CoD4 online and Battlefield 2142 where Im a very high rank (View Horr1d)  Do left for dead now to pass time until the new battlefield is out. Love Fps games, wish there was a fps/mmo with open pvp (not planetside or whatever its called)

Almost everyone I know who plays L2 would rather play a shooter than pickup another MMO. Its not based on twitch or reaction time, but its based on skill and strategy, and every aspect of the game is about being better than your competition, and smack talking them.

You said it yourself: EVE.

Can you really smack talk a little ingame without getting into mod trouble?  ..why didn't I know about this before!! Honestly I expected all games to be like that..then i started with RS and WoW XD

Well, if "FREE" is what you are looking for (for instance, Lineage 2 is a great game and I highly recommend it but it's not FREE) then try Archlord, the hardcore pvp server which I believe has looting.

Free as in I can kill anyone anywhere at anytime without having to wait to go into an instance to do it.

L2 is all based on smack talking and flaming your heart out...its the only game afaik where people have murdered their in game enemies, there been multiple reports of enemy clans meeting in parking lots and other areas to have street brawls against each other.

Even though theres no such thing as corpse camping, imagine how pissed off people would get in WoW if everytime a horde killed an ally they'd say "lol scrub, learn to play"...or they said "lol u suck" every time they corpse camped someone. In L2 clans are factions, and you can talk how you want...the game is all based on PvP.
