Say it isnt so.... muhahahaha. now all we need is armegeddon and i would reactivate my accounts and play eve once again |

False New players join every day. New players contribute every day. Get in game... join a corp (Recommend EVE University to new players) and learn to play. Within just a few days you can contribute as a frigate tackler, within a week or two you could be an Electronics Warfare pilot, within a couple months you can be a hack or recon pilot... within less than a year you could be flying capital ships along with the vets.... Within 1.5 - 2 years you're pretty much a "Vet" yourself. Don't believe me? Check any killboard then go in game and look at the ages of the pilots on both sides of the killmails. Most pilots in EVE are < 2yrs old. Many are <1 year old. By the time you've been in EVE 2 years you're 'older' and 'more skilled' than almost 75% of the population. |

Someone needs to check his facts. Fact: There were 3 accounts, all by the same player, who also uses several password protected forums and has been posting there for the past 3 days. Fact: The player in question was a Director in Black Nova Corporation AND had a Character that was a Director in Tinfoil Corporation As well as several alt accounts within BoB. Thus it is HIGHLY unlikely this was a hacked account as, by now, CCP would have received a complaint from the actual owner of the accounts involved along with CD Keys and Secret Words. They have not thus this is not just unlikely but untrue. The only logical conclusion that can be made given those facts is that it was a legit player who got fed up with BoB and decided to screw the alliance over (and made a HUGE profit in the process).
Seriously doubt this to be the case. As stated above multiple accounts of the same player were involved and that player has been active both on the EVE-O forums and Scrapheap both before and after the event. Do a little digging and you can find the real story of what happened. |

This is not true. The account used was used by the actual owner. He was brought into Goons as a spy for bob. Ended up liking Goons more then BoB and when they found out and were going to kick him said screw it, ill show you how dedicated I am and then the plan was cooked up. My favorite part is the chat logs he got while they were finding out what happened and Molle was going to contact the devs directly over AIM to get them to reverse it. Sorry but the good thing is that the DEV puppets of BoB are finally gone, not Goons. I am not a goon but I have hated BoB since the first time they were caught cheating with the CCP devs by getting free T2 bpo's they had no right to have. |

This is what happened....Ex-BoB director ( well now he is a Ex-Director :P ) decided that he hated being in BoB and felt that they sucked. He decides to then head over to Goons to join them but before doing so he decides the best option would be to hi-jack 15 dreads fitted and rigged along with 100's of ships. He cleaned out the Alliance wallet and rest their standings with everyone. Then he went for the coup de grace so to speak and disbanding the Alliance. The goons had nothing to do with it all but they were in on the plans of this ex-disgruntled BoB director. So in the end BoB was destroyed by one of their own!! Listen and learn the truth. There was no hacking or cracking of accounts involved. Just goons being the benefactors of a disgruntled BoB member. The wolves will now be circling the BoB carcass in Delve. |

Why is this in the news section? Big clans/alliances/guilds get Disbanded all the time |

Hardly, it's a game with about 250k subscribers or so its far from a "hisoric gaming moment". Guilds backstab each other all the time, the only reason this gets posted here is because part of the EVE community is known for being a bunch of drama queens. |

Edit: Hell.... BOB has had articles written about them in popular gaming sites. These arent just normal run of the mill guilds

because in other games, guild get backstabbed and destroyed, it doesn't affect or shape the game like EVE, which territory control is the game. This itself will change the way null sec is handled and played. |

Eve is hands down the best MMO out right now. It's 100% original, sandbox (take it as it is), and as FFA as it gets for its design. It's regularly supported, has an awesome an epic sized community, free massive updates, I mean the list goes on with this continues to be a fantastic MMO. But, this does not mean it is for the faint of heart. The learning curve is STEEP, which is probably the 2nd highest reason why people are turned off by it, first being that its ship based. |

That is the biggest pack of lies. So typical of goon disinformation. Sorry the account WAS Hacked! Goon accounts will be banned for this. CCP is investigating at this moment. The only thing goons are known for are lies and deceit. BTW the alliance could not be disbanded because the alliance owner is in basic training at the moment and if anyone has a clue what that means, he most certainly does not have access to a computer. |

Its common knowledge really. Wow = 11 million (jesus christ) FFXI =500k Eve online = 250k -300k Everything else 200k- a few hundred. go google it, check that mmochart site. I was online when word got out and EVERY channel I watch including all the locals were filling up with cheers and jeers (mostly cheers). Felt like the end of Jedi when they show all the planets celebrating the end of the Empire, was pretty funny. The best part, NO ONE KNOWS WTF HAPPENS NEXT. Will BOB reform and come back, will Goons even attempt to control the space, massive wars over the territory? That doesn't even begin to touch the economic impact which once again is anyone's guess. Some are guessing it will take months before we really know the real impact. This is why EVE is so great, player generated content. All CCP needs to do is provide the game mechanics and give us freedom then get out of the way. Hell, my player run bank was robbed recently! The only thing CCP should do is investigate the hacking claims with CSM looking over their shoulders. If everything happened the way it sounds then CCP needs to just stay focused on the March expansion. Maybe light a candle for BOB. What did they put in BOB's corp. description "Nice alliance, I think we will take it." That was just classic. |

To give you a comparisson of what happend: In WoW terms - Kungen steals the account info on every single guild member he's ever played with and sells all the chars on ebay at the same time. That's the comparable amount of drama - dont think that would be news worthy? |

not an eve player myself, tried it a few times but never really got into it. but what makes this news really huge is that all players in eve are in the same universe, there is not different servers which have an average of 20-30k players on each of them, there is one big universe that has the 200-250k eve players all in it. so if one of the big alliances in eve dies that means that it has effects on territory control all eve players, and not only on the players of one server like in other mmos. and even in big mmos like wow there are less players per server than in eve. |

why must i be nice to people that have no clue, are lying, or are just stupid? |

untrue, i just started and am enjoying it greatly, been playing for about 3 months total.and already do pretty well in pvp. All your skills are maxed and you are manufacturing T2 blueprints at full factory capacity? You are amazing!
if you approach the game intelligently - you won't have any problems. if you're an idiot - don't even bother, you'll die just as often as you die in wow, eq2, etc, except you won't just "lose precious time running back to your body" in eve. could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please? |

You sound like a complete idiot. And it's obvious you don't or haven't played Eve very long (active 1 year or more). Yes, 250k subscribers....oh yeah all on ONE server.
There is no mmo game that even comes close. WoW is like maybe 20k per server, and maybe 5k concurrent connetions. Eve has sometimes up to 30-40k people playing at the same time.
Furthermore, add to the sandbox of Eve and how the players shape the world and is Eve...there is no comparison in MMO history. You thinking it's not that big deal shows me how little knowledge you actually have of Eve and MMOs in general...
ah a '04 login...great another WoW player who thinks he "knows" MMOs.
Edit: Shadowbane had such things, but not on such a global scale. They were server specific guilds and they didn't rule the server since almost the game conception till now (around 5 years). BoB directly and indirectly influenced how Eve was played by thousands if not 10s of thousands of players.
